Gears of War "Triple Pack" Announced

Too bad Gears 1 was so unbearable to play.

Cool. Might pick this up. The name is super misleading though.

Gears 2 1/2 pack would be better.

I don't see this big issue with the name.  Find something more important to worry about.  Jesus.  If you can't read the CLEAR description of what the pack contains then you deserve to be disappointed when Gears 3 isn't in the box.

@  Perhaps the coolest bit of DLC the Triple Pack offers is the “Road to Ruin” campaign mission for Gears of War 2, which gives you the opportunity to play as Marcus and Dom dressed as Theron guards. The mission itself revolves around getting into the Nexus, and you get two options for the approach: go stealth with Theron outfits or bust in with guns blazing.

So . . . by "triple pack", they actually mean "double pack".

This will work nicely for me. I never bought the first game and my brother sold the second game. I also found myself really wanting to play Gears lately so I will most probably get my hands on this.

It's the same name as the HALO triple pack.   Same name, even similar box art.   Are people forgetting that?

I've had my 360 for more than 2 years now and never get around to playing these.  I guess now's the time...

The did it with Halo before, as did Nintendo releasing OoT and MM before Windwaker and Metroid Prime Trilogy.  "

I just have a question to ask, how many discs are included in that triple pack because to my knowledge all of that content cannot be on a disc due to storage limitations.

Talk about a misleading news piece. All three gears games this is NOT. This is sorta crazy, but not really that out there. Once Gears 3 comes out, your not going to see a lot of people picking up Gears 2, let alone the original. Damn good value, but this is just the kind of thing that should happen more often.

I like this idea. Only so I can get if for my brother and he can play these games with me. But he doesn't need Gears 1, so I should just get a GotY Gears 2. Done.

I don't understand why this bothers people. You know it doesn't have GoW 3, who cares about idiots who can't even read the front of the box?

I can't see who'll go buy this since they've been down in price for such a long time. But good if you recently got a Xbox 360.

Gears 2 rang completely hollow for me, but this is definately good value for whoever hasn't yet tired themselves of Bender chainsawing underground aliens. 

They might as well just call it "Gears of War X3" if they want to mislead the consumer like that...

These things should be called Legacy Packs, not Triple Packs. As for its necessity, who cares? No one is making you buy it, let the consumer decide.

I already bought gears  for $10, I could see paying $30 for 2 and all the DLC.  Not a bad deal,

I think I'd be better if they did a gears 3 collectors edition with all games. $100 or something.

As someone who owns a 360 and is interested in playing Gears of War, but doesn't yet own any of the games, this has my attention. Any word on a UK release?

Will probably actually buy this. Already played both with friends, but seeing as I am a rather recent 360 owner, seems like a good deal. Actually cheaper than buying both used, at least in my area.

This is dumb.  This is like Mass Effect 2 on the Playstation 3.  If you are and can release everything on one disc, why not?  I have a 20 GB original HDD with my Xbox 360 and since I only bought the first GeoW, I wouldn't mind buying the triple pack if everyone is on one disc.  Since HDD space is running critically low anyways, I think I will just pass.
