George Broussard Not Involved With 3D Realms’ Earth No More

Ecological shooter is coming back from the dead through crowdfunding, but without an important part of 3D Realms' past.

Earth No More has a War of the Worlds vibe, with a mysterious outbreak infecting the environment.

3D Realms co-founder George Broussard is not involved with the upcoming Earth No More, 3D Realms’ other co-founder, Scott Miller, told me yesterday.

The Duke Nukem developer starting to tease a revival of Earth No More on Gambitious, a Kickstarter-like crowdfunding site that allows contributors to get equity of a project. Earth No More was once a collaboration between Miller’s Radar Group, 3D Realms, and Recoil Games several years ago, but it was never finished.

Radar Group was Miller’s cross-media company, which was also working on a game called Incarnate, where history’s “most evil people” were suddenly coming back to life in modern Chicago.

Earth No More, previously announced as an ecological first-person-shooter, is apparently going to seek funding on Gambitious in the near future, and is branded as a 3D Realms project. But Miller said Broussard isn’t part of it.

“George is not involved,” said Miller in an email.

Miller was unwilling to divulge any other details about Earth No More and it’s funding plans, though. Another studio is involved with developing the game, and it seems unlikely that's still Recoil Games.

“Wheels are turning behind-the-scenes, but for now there's not much to say,” he said.

It’s unclear if Broussard is simply not involved with Earth No More, or whether he’s left 3D Realms entirely. Miller did not respond to my requests for clarification, and Broussard has not responded to my request for comment.
