Giant Bomb Image Moderation: The Home Game!

I'm liking it. I keep coming back here so that I can live the moderating experience if only for a little bit of it. Stopping those assholes who keep uploading stupid crap in this site is good enough for me to keep doing this. Great idea guys thanks :D

Hey guys- sometimes a glitch pops up and it doesn't say where the user is attaching an already-approved image to. Just saying. I should probably put this in bug reports...

Glad to be able to help out.  Looking forward to your update that will allow Opera users to submit article edits.

It would be great to have an option to only approve partial submissions for certain galleries. I saw a couple of box arts that were also marked as screenshots or vice versa.

I'd really like to know how the guys in the staff feels about "Early Screenshots" galleries. Personally I don't think they're needed but I see a lot of these galleries and pictures getting approved...

It would be nice to get an official word about it.

Are we getting points for this. Because my point total mysterious keeps seeming to go up. Idk though. If we are that is awesome.

Try it, you might like it.

1) Show what galleries they are requesting to go in.
2) If they are requesting a new gallery show that
3) Show the game that it is going in
4) A random button (no one wants to approve or deny a million gears of war pics in a row)

Any image I see with a watermark on it I have been adding the comment "watermark" too then disapproving the edit.

do we disapprove pictures with watermarks that are from the game developers themselves or just the one that are from 3rd party websites ?

Crap!! I think I must have approved a couple of images with watermarks on them...oops I need to slow down with the approving/disapproving stuff...

Ahh. I accidently approved one w/ a watermark. I'm a terrible person.

I do like this - user moderation is key to keeping things organised on any wiki website.

keep an eye out for watermarks there seems to be a whole lot of them.

Most of the images are great. Its a shame some of the best had watermarks, and or were redundant.
Or in one case I saw about 20 screen shots from the same game that were taken over about a minute span, so most of em looked like the previous one. In that case I O.K.'ed a couple that stood out and denied the rest.

The new feature is awesome and I can't wait to see how the community uses it.

Sounds like a nifty idea to me, keep em flowing and this site will be flowing.  I'm looking forward to trying this out especially if it helps you guys work more efficiently, my only concern is I would want to see which character, place, object etc... these images are being attached to.  That being my primary concern of image attachments.  Perhaps a link embedded in the picture or next to it leading me to the page upon the picture is being attached to sounds like a simple enough idea.  Either or, just get Dave on this CHET!  Go gamespot!

Hopefully this will help with the mod process. So now moderators don't have to approve images. I guess that means they can focus more on text based submissions. I'll take anything that's gonna make the moderation process faster.

I agree with Alex_V, I'm concerned about old games' screenshots being rejected because the native resolution is so small. Epecially since that describes most of my own image uploads. ;) But they're all still pending so far...

And I second all the requests for data on the galleries the user is editing. It's hard to approve attaching an image someplace else if we don't know where it's going, and some erroneous new additions could be curbed if we saw what galleries they were going into.

Continued approving/denying until I got this message.
