Giant Bomb Image Moderation: The Home Game!

Nice tool, i like it but it needs the ability to sort submisions by game and give user ability to browse by game, not randomly pump images at you

It seems like the next step would be a similar voting system but for every submission, not just images. That sounds like it would seriously lighten the load on your side of things, leaving more time for editorials.

Christ, the amount of watermarked images that get uploaded is shocking.

I get a message that says, "This image isn't new, but the user wants it attached to more places". But it does not tell me where the user wants it attached.

I went through six images, but they all had that "This image isn't new, but the user wants it attached to more places"  message, without any context. There's not much I can do to help out here.

I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but it sound like a good idea.

Seems that it doesn't always like to tell me what gallery the image is wanting to be linked to.   

Also I have a question about the watermarkings what if it's just a watermark of the name of the game, is that fine or a no no?

Great idea, but needs some tuning. Sometimes you don't see where the image is supposed to go, so it's hard to judge if it's acceptable.

I'm pretty sure a watermark with the game's name is fine. :P Watermarks with other website names/addresses are bad.

I was under the impression that doing this moderation would get you points! you tricked me!!!!

Like Colin, the tool doesn't seem to be telling me what the user wants to attach the image to.  It might be a kickass picture, but without that information, I can't really say if it is 'hot' or 'not'.

Don't freak out about lack of points, people. Brad is the one who said "soon", so not immediately.

I can't tell where they are trying to post the image. So, I can only filter obviously inappropriate content.

I agree with Alex_V, I'm concerned about old games' screenshots being rejected because the native resolution is so small. Epecially since that describes most of my own image uploads. ;) But they're all still pending so far...

And I second all the requests for data on the galleries the user is editing. It's hard to approve attaching an image someplace else if we don't know where it's going, and some erroneous new additions could be curbed if we saw what galleries they were going into.

Some tuning and it'll be fine.

I hope tjey don't call it Hot or Not.

The Image Crowd Moderation tool does not jive with me.

Sounds like a really good idea.

Hopefully this will help with the mod process. So now moderators don't have to approve images. I guess that means they can focus more on text based submissions. I'll take anything that's gonna make the moderation process faster.

Sounds like a nifty idea to me, keep em flowing and this site will be flowing.  I'm looking forward to trying this out especially if it helps you guys work more efficiently, my only concern is I would want to see which character, place, object etc... these images are being attached to.  That being my primary concern of image attachments.  Perhaps a link embedded in the picture or next to it leading me to the page upon the picture is being attached to sounds like a simple enough idea.  Either or, just get Dave on this CHET!  Go gamespot!

The new feature is awesome and I can't wait to see how the community uses it.

Most of the images are great. Its a shame some of the best had watermarks, and or were redundant.
Or in one case I saw about 20 screen shots from the same game that were taken over about a minute span, so most of em looked like the previous one. In that case I O.K.'ed a couple that stood out and denied the rest.

keep an eye out for watermarks there seems to be a whole lot of them.

I do like this - user moderation is key to keeping things organised on any wiki website.
