Fantastic news. Still getting it on PS4 and playing it there first but it's awesome to know that 1-2 years after i beat it on PS4 i can snag it on sale for $10 and replay it maxed out.

I would actually be more interested in MGS 1-3 + PW coming to PC.

This is the first console generation in awhile that I'm going PC only. Too many positives to PC gaming and none of the consoles have enough exclusives for them to justify the expense.

Cool, the last game i played was Sons of Liberty.

Butter smooth 60fps but when Kiefer speaks it can dip below 40.

In terms of "current" systems I have a PC, Wii U, 3DS and Vita. Almost everything on PS4 and Xbone are on PC, so I have no interest in buying either. Announcements like this help solidify that.

I think you had to like hold down CTRL or ALT while aiming using the numpad. It was... special. The gamepad support was really limited, it recognized like a third of the popular PC controllers on the market at the time, and even then had huge issues with any D-pad.

Got a PS3,PS4,Wii U, Vita and a 3ds. But every game I can play on PC is a PC game. Guaranteed stable framerate, wide range of available input methods (I don't own a wheel or HOTAS for console and my fight stick doesn't work on the PS4), and they're generally cheaper. Also I have more friends on my steam list and steam's social stuff works better than what's on the consoles.

Pretty much the same for me, though I will probably eventually get at least one of the new consoles. i'm in no rush though.

I have all 3 last gen consoles and still have a backlog on each one. Current gen, I have PC, 3DS, and Vita and they've been more than enough combined. I'll get a Wii U at some point for the usual Nintendo stuff, and probably an Xbox One in a couple years for Halo, but I have plenty to hold me over until then.

I would love for the older games to make it to PC as well.

half the reason i wanted a ps4 just went out the window i guess... most likely will buy it on pc now.

Everything they've shown has left me completely cold so far but for 5-10$? Sure why not.

MGS will be a game I want to play from the comfort of my sofa with the visual and audio capacity of my home theater, but I will absolutely buy a (later) discounted version for the PC, too.

This was unexpected, but welcome. I hope they don't disappoint with a poor port.

This is cool, but I think the subject matter/the way the game is presenting itself still seems questionable.

I could have sworn that we knew this already, maybe it was that when it was called just the fox engine they talked about it being pc combatible

That's how I play my PC games. got 8 hdmi ins on my surround receiver and a long hdmi cable isn't that expensive.

You would be horribly wrong then. The PS4 and Xbone can barely stand up to an average gaming PC from 2 years ago. It will look leaps and bounds better on PC.

I'm not particularly interested in this game or franchise but I'm much, MUCH more interested in anything that doesn't require a new, multi-hundred dollar hardware purchase :)

I'm still gonna get it on PS4 and then snag it in a Steam sale though. It just feels right to play it on a console first, and I'll have a crowd with me watching too.

You have to keep in mind that GiantBomb is full of fairly avid gamers who are pretty invested in stuff like mods, framerate and the like. It is also a surprisingly international site with many of its regulars representing European countries where PC gaming is generally much more popular than it is here in the States.

I personally can't stand PC gaming because it requires owning a PC (or a super beefy Mac) and my five year daliance with a PC was good for getting to play Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and some of the old LucasArts adventure games that weren't ported to Macs but very little else. I HATED owning a PC and switched back to Mac as soon as I could (about as soon as they announced OS X).

Metal Gear Rising on PC would like to speak to you.

I just dropped a huge upgrade to my PC in lieu of getting a PS4, thinking I'd pick the console up later next year. More and more it looks like I might not have to do that.

Rising on PC looked fantastic, just being able to increase the amount of physics objects and how long they stick around is a really nice feature, and keeping 60 fps while using Blade Mode is amazing.

It just occurred to me that I'll never have the specs to play it on my PC, not without spending a lot of money at least. Ah well, PS4 it is then.

Aw, man... I guess I pulled the trigger on that PS4 too soon. I don't even need it now. Never expected this. :)

Very excited about this, was just thinking today how this might be the only game I'd be sad to miss since I don't have a new console. But I just built a new PC and should be set :)

Exactly. The only positive that consoles have is convenience of sitting on my sofa in my home theater. Now, that's a huge positive as I've gotten older and more tired of being hunched over my desk for even more time every week... but for many games, there simply is no substitute. If it is a quality port, it's going to be far more glorious to play on my PC with a display of double the pixels that a television provides on video cards that cost more than all three of the current gen consoles, combined. Not to mention the improvement in control, etc (for many games).

However, for MGS . . . well, that is a sit on a sofa and look at the giant screen and relax with the 45m cut-scenes game, for me. I hope the port to PC is done justice -- but I'll almost certainly play it on PS4.
