I always find it funny when people talk about Halo and its OMG AWSUM STOREE and concern themselves with the chronology or whatever.  
 
It's a generic-ass video game premise about Generic Space Marine Dude and his EPIC BATTLEZ against a Generic Alien Enemy.   
 
Go read a book, seriously.

Beyond Halo, this is kind of a lackluster announcement list. Curious about the Live changes, though.

NO.  The fight is finished, it's done.  That was the point of Halo 3, it's a motherfucking trilogy and all loose ends have been dealt with.  This is gonna be the Phantom Menace of Halo, I fucking know it.

Halo 3 did finish the fight, it ended the war with the covenant. But what's wrong with exploring more of the universe and characters? ODST showed more of the human side to what was going on during the invasion and Reach was a prequel that showed how thing really got started.

Halo 4 obviously won't be about the covenant, war or the flood.

It's like how Star Trek VI ended the war with the Klingons.. Does that mean there can never be other Star Trek movies/shows?

These Microsoft leaks tend to happen every year.... Almost starting to think that they are planned...

I'm all fine for a new Halo 1 remake this year just don't include multiplayer outside of Co-op (unless they do like ODST and include the Halo 3 mp with extra stuff on the disc). Halo Reach is still wildly popular and in my opinion the pinnacle of what can be done with that game and multiplayer.

@Gizmo: THe Sesame Street game is being made at Double Fine. Its not a typical kids game though it is being geared towards a younger audience obviously but games writers who have previewed the game in the past have had good impressions on the game, even Jeff.

Yeah, I saw it earlier today too. The Kinect stuff looks fun for about 20 minutes, but I guess we'll see more of it in less than an hour.

I don't think so. We've had Halo spin-offs, prequels and expansions.. They want people to know this is Halo 4, the real deal that will continue the Master Chief story.

Like how we had GTAIII, followed by Vice City and San Andreas before getting the big, true sequel.

Really hope the Halo 4 thing is true. Hopefully there are other big announcements besides that though.

I just don't get it, believe me, I tried. I played the first two about half way through each, and I fucking bought Reach to give the series a fair shake after a few years. But no. It's so goddamn bad.

I don't mind any of these announcements but I'd like to hope that there is more on show at the conference. Otherwise it isn't looking good. Unless you like Kinect & Halo.

i can only hope they purposely teased the Halo 4 announcement so they can announce something a lot more interesting...if what they mentioned there is all they got, Microsoft's going to disappoint.

We've had Halo games two years in a row now...I don't know. They've got to do something crazy during the presentation to get me excited about it.

I'm thrilled about both Halo announcements. Say what you will. I love the series and will always go for more. Just please bring back some of the exploration aspect that was key in the original!

I just love how CoD fans are making fun of the various Halo sequels.

So the only thing worth hearing about are the new XBL features.  Did MS really give up on make new games and instead just keep releasing more and more Halo.  Who do they think they are Activision?

More halo winner, cant wait for halo aniversary, i played the first halo far to much, guna be good fun to play classic halo in 50inches in1080p! halo4, halo5 and halo 6, i am happy.

Don't want to sound old when I say this, but isn't ten years a little too soon for a remake?  If that's the case, I demand a remake of Baldur's Gate or Planescape: Torment.

So Halo HD is confirmed but Halo 4 was a surprise for me. Still I'm pumped to play it.
