Here's What Nintendo Just Announced

Sadly nothing substantially new for the WiiU, but X and Bayonetta 2 both appear amazing.

I'm curious about all the eShop games on 3DS today. I'll check em out.

Yeah, I was so surprised to hear that one come out that I bought it before the shock wore off. I've heard a lot of good things about it, so I guess we'll see.

Bayonetta is the best character action game ever made. I've never heard anyone that's a fan of the genre deny that. The God of War series is rarely even mentioned as even being competent.

@agentboolen: Well, there's no accounting for taste. Personally, Bayonetta's the best action game I've ever played, and that's as someone who's spent entirely too much time playing action games.

@make_me_mad: I don't know I didn't think Bayanetta 1 was all that amazing and that's from a fan of Ninja Gaiden and God of War games. I thought it was good but nothing amazing and definitely not a series that will move a console.

I hope Monolith goes all out with X. Bring in those Xenogears style atrocities and nihilism in a meaningful way. Just no amnesia and let them finish developing the game this time

It was a solid Nintendo Direct, I thought. But the omission of a PAL SMT IV release put a serious damper on the whole thing. At this rate i'm doubtful we will ever get it.

And the whole situation would feel so much better if Nintendo didn't bloody region lock the damn thing.

Can we get GBA games on the 3DS already? This is crazy just putting them on the Wii U, cause you know, so many people have purchased the Wii U. And I still think they can get SNES games on the 3DS but don't want to for some unknown reason.

GBA VC is the most exciting thing here for me. I missed that whole handheld, and I haven't played basically any of the big games.

Metroid Fusion, now that was a good time. Damn, has it really been twelve years?

GBA is not the N64. Goddamn it Nintendo. Priorities. Also rerelease DKC1-3 on Virtual Console Wii U.

Patrick, it ain't just a new Ace Attorney: it's a new Ace Attorney directed by SHU MOTHER EFFIN' TAKUMI. He hasn't directed an AA title since the third game, for context. AA5 was amazing without his help, so goodness knows how brilliant this new one will be.

Mario Golf sounds sick. The GBC version had a single player rpg mode and I love that game

Does anyone really want/need GBA games on Wii U? I would imagine anyone who still plays GBA games has a GBA and the games they like. I wonder how bad, I'm guessing, they will look on a big screen?

I never played Punch Out so Little Mac is lost on me. But it's someone completely new and should have an interesting fighting style so I'm happy about that. And an official 2014 release date made me happy!

If I liked playing sports games on handhelds I would be all over Mario Golf on 3DS. Maybe someday we will get another console Mario Golf game.

It's a shame, I'm speculating, X won't be released in NA in 2014.

The addition of the Koopa Kids in Mario Kart 8 was a pleasant surprise. It's just a shame we have to wait until the end of May to play it.

@smashed_pumpkins: Some interesting stuff. I am really baffled by the lack of a release date for Shin Megami Tensei IV. They are set to release two Etrian Odyssey games within a year of each other over here. And still not a mention of SMTIV.

Mario Golf with an RPG mode sounds great, and I could see getting Yoshi and Kirby depending on how those turn out - 3DS still rocking. Still little reason to get a Wii U though. Bayonetta 2 could be great, but even with that there's only 2-3 games that I'd buy out of everything announced and released.

Expanding streetpass for better in game functionality could be interesting - I can actually use that stuff now with their Starbucks partnership. Found a single Bravely Default person in a week of streetpassing, but better than nothing as long as its well implemented in game.

That 2D animation used to reveal Little Mac was amazing. I want Smash Bros. to look like that!!

i'm probably the only person interested in Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, something about seeing the bat lathing made me laugh and haggling down real prices is an interesting way to take it. Mario Golf and Pokemon Battle Trozei also looked pretty good

I can't wait for "X", and I really hope Nintendo actually puts more weight behind it rather than "nothing at all" (as with Xenoblade), because it looks like it could be quite the stand-out title for the WiiU if they wanted it to be.

GBA Virtual Console only on the WiiU is just.. super weird though. It's absolutely insane that they didn't build the 3DS and WiiU to have even a modest amount of cross-compatibility.

GBA comes to Virtual Console in the spring, starting with Metroid Fusion, Mario & Luigi, Mario Advance 3, and others down the line. Mario Advance 2, Wario Ware, Advance Wars, Golden Sun, F-Zero and others are headed to Japan.

Getting Mario Golf: World Tour for sure. Probably will get Kirby: Triple Deluxe and Yoshi's New Island as well.

No Wii U for me yet. X is the one game that I "have" to play. So sometime this year with the games I've missed so far.

The idea of tying in-game unlocks, items, and even game mechanics to street passes is pretty cool. Way more interesting than just putting a real $$$ button in the UI like others are doing.

Bayonetta 2 is going to be the best game of the next generation, until Bayonetta 3 or Wonderful 101-2 or something, and it's a shame that not many people are gonna play and appreciate it just because it's on the Wii U.

I think they announced NES Remix 2, might be a typo.
