Here's Three More Deus Ex 3 Screens To Look At

That dude with the implants is so dreamy.

Even if you're sore over the fact that the original Deus Ex creators Warren Spector and Harvey Smith aren't involved with Deus Ex: Human Revolution, it's probably still hard to conjure the inner strength to resist drooling as you eyeball images and concept art of the upcoming title. It just looks that radical.

I'm not writing this to help you with that salivation issue. In fact, I'm probably about to make whatever is underneath your chin rue this afternoon. Publisher Square Enix has dropped three more images of the game, all grabbed from a trailer hitting this Friday.

   A space-age helicopter?
   A space-age helicopter?

 Nice city.
 Nice city.

  Mr. Biomechanical, the game's protagonist.
 Mr. Biomechanical, the game's protagonist.
In case you didn't know, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a prequel to the series. It won't have stat-assisted combat, but will have upgradeable weapons and some kind of cover system for stealth. There are few details other than those above floating around, but you can probably find all of them on our Deus Ex 3 page

The last time a trailer for the game was shown was at this year's GDC. It still makes me feel all tingly on the inside.

Nice, right?

I really hope Square doesn't fuck up Deus Ex and Japanify it; it was a great pillar of western gaming at one time.

Square Enix is involved? That is new news to me. Needless to say, I really enjoyed the music to it.

How is this a prequel when the cities look way more advanced than anything in Deus Ex 1 or 2?  I hate when people do this to games.

I really want to like this game since the first Deus Ex is what really got me into gaming today. I enjoyed the story and the different locals and the 15 different ways to go about each mission(Yes, exaggeration on the internet, oh gnoes). Heck, I may lose some friends here but, I even enjoyed Deus Ex: Invisible War.

However, from what I've seen of this game it's a remake of Snowblind(After all it was supposedly a 'prequel' to the Deus Ex games) and while Snowblind wasn't a bad game it wasn't a good game either, it was just kind of mediocre. So, here's hoping that they realize what made the first game good (Upgradeable stats, dialogue affects game play, and bio-mod customization) and implement it into the third one.

My theory is those are not really shades but either a UI/HUD interface for his bionic systems and inbuilt computing or armored protection for the eyes or both.

" This definitely has the Star Wars: Episode I, issue of advanced technology before it's supposed sequels. Where were the mega-cities and space-age helicopters in the original, or even Invisible War? There was that big complex in Cairo, but nothing at all like that screenshot.  I mean I'm all for a Deus Ex sequel as I loved the first two, but I would have been alright with them just saying this is a different spin on the same concept. I don't understand why they felt compelled to do a prequel. Regardless, it looks incredible, visually. "

It's a damn shame they've ditched stat assisted combat. It was kind of what *made* Deus Ex in the first place. I didn't hate Invisible War, but I wished during my time with that game, that it was more like the first. Now, I probably don't know nearly enough about Deus Ex 3, but if upgradeable weapons are all I'm going to get, which means that they first ditched the experience-based progression system and then even decided to forget about System Shock / Bioshock type character progression, all I'm going to get (gameplay-mechanics-wise) is a, well, generic shooter with weapon upgrades. Here's hoping that a branching storyline and meaningful decision making will make this game more interesting.

hmmm, I don't think so. Tool is more guitar focused which wouldn't suit the techno savvy premise of Deus Ex.

Drinking on the job, are you? This article is a mess.

As for the game I'm getting the idea that, compared to the original, DX3 is trying a bit too hard to be one of the cool kids instead of being top of the class.

Scrap that, good job making it readable!

Well, you were in cities with old architecture like New York and Paris. It's not like they're going to knock the whole city down and rebuild it to be flashy once the next century rolls around. This city could be the efforts of bold experimental civil engineering like Dubai is today.

As a huge fan of the first, I really wish they would stop making this game. It does not look like it lives up to the Deus Ex name or fit into the setting.
