Remember how EA put out a press release back in February claiming that it was working with Starbreeze--the Chronicles of Riddick people--on reinventing a "classic EA franchise?"
At the time they called the EA Partners release "Project RedLime" and said it would be available for PS3, 360, and PC. I think this was right around the same time that John Riccitello name-dropped Road Rash a few times, leading some to speculate that this was what the game would end up being.
But maybe not. CVG has a report from a sneaky secret tipster that claims that Starbreeze has been working on a revival of Syndicate, a classic PC game developed by Bullfrog back in the early '90s where you took control of a bunch of drugged-up future agents and made them haul ass around a futuristic city to mow down opposing agents. You controlled the drug levels in their bodies, letting you jack them up to do better in fights, but an over-reliance on the dope made them build up a tolerance and get weak.
CVG's story quite literally takes the words out of my mouth on the original Syndicate: "It was awesome."
Personally, I'd be very interested to see what Starbreeze with do with Syndicate. CVG's story starts and stops with a reliance on an anonymous source, so I guess we shouldn't get too excited, but... yeah... totally filled with excitement and hope over here.
