Is Starbreeze Working On A Syndicate Revival?

Syndicate is one of my favorite childhood games!  Please bring it back, and do it justice.  This would rock my world if it turned out to be true.

Syndicate was most definitely amazing.  It was one of the few non-multiplayer PC games I played over and over again.  It was all about the Persuad-a-tron and the mini gun.  So much fun gathering an army of civilians and opposing agents and just cause mass destruction, blowing up cop cars within 2 seconds of targeting them.

Though it's not so much an EA classic as a Peter Molyneux classic.  They might own the IP, but it's not like the original was an in-house EA effort.

Definitely mixed feelings about a new one coming out, that'll be developed by a studio that doesn't have a trace of the original team.  If it's a FPS, it will only be Syndicate in name and setting.  I think an open world game would be the best fit as far as the original gameplay goes.  The mechanics and kewl shit from the original could be applied very nicely (I mean, the original definitely has a prot-open world/GTA game feel to it in retrospect) to the open world format.

Syndicate is one of the few awesome cyberpunk games and it's very heavy cyberpunk feel is just, awesome. I love it. And Starbreeze is an awesome developer, just gimme Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena and a new Syndicate and I'm happy for years to come!

Syndicate was really something special back in the day, and the destruction in Syndicate Wars just made my jaw drop, every single time.

Ha! I called it in favor of Syndicate last time this news hit the surface! I am excited and nervous about where Starbreeze will take the genre. We haven't had a proper RTS/FPS hybrid yet, though it has been attempted many times. Starbreeze does "dark" really well, and Syndicate is very dark universe. Great match!

Though it sucks that we now know this isn't a Road Rash revival.

Oh man, I would be stoked to have a new Syndicate and see what Starbreeze would do with it.

Syndicate is a bonafide classic and a cornerstone of my childhood; but what do you do with it in today's market?  If it's *another* sticky-cover Gears clone I will cry.  I think I'd rather see a straight update in the style of Bionic Commando Rearmed.  Maybe we'll see both?

I'm also kinda surprised we haven't seen a new Road Rash yet - make it online with a persistent character/bike that you earn xp/money to customize, race against other people and have a few guys playing as cops.  Awesome.  I wouldn't expect it to be a AAA title or anything, but I imagine it would measure up to something like Warhawk.

I felt the setting was really bleak, but that didn't stop me from conquering the world and buying the expansion pack.  Something seductive about hands-on destruction of people's wills.  Oh, and I officially renounce my candidacy.

now that you mentioned it , I think the game Haze used the same theme . I mean the nectar of Haze resembles the drug in this game , like overdosing and stuff .  I hope it would not be like Haze  since that game was not good .

After Riddick Starbreeze did fantastic Darkness. Played both games and loved them.

I never played Syndicate, but I did play Syndicate Wars, and that game was freakin' awesome. KABOOM!  A new Syndicate would probably be the best thing ever.

Back in the 90s I was playing mostly PC games and Syndicate was a gem. And as a Swede I welcome this project very much.
