It's a Banjo-Kablooie!

Microsoft releases a variety of new details about Banjo-Kazooie.

We already knew that Banjo-Kazooie was coming to Xbox Live Arcade, but today Microsoft revealed some actual specifics of the release. Rare's N64 classic will arrive on XBLA on November 26 at a price of $15. Unless, of course, you preordered Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, in which case it's free, and you'll be able to play the game two weeks earlier--which, as coincidence would have it, happens to be the day after Nuts & Bolts is currently scheduled to drop. Fancy that! Microsoft really seems to be going out of its way to make you feel like an idiot for paying for this Xbox Live Arcade release rather than just getting it as a Nuts & Bolts preorder bonus. Also, just between you and me, I hear that paying for Banjo-Kazooie for XBLA gives you mono.

Microsoft also revealed that it has plans for the Banjo franchise beyond November, stating that Banjo-Tooie will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade as well, though it provided only a vague "early 2009" release date for that. While I kind of agree with some of Peter Moore's recent sentiments about Rare's skillsets, I also think that Nuts & Bolts looks like ridiculous fun, and I'm happy to see Microsoft really putting its back into it with all of this Banjo stuff.

Banjo!

Nice, I never completely finished Banjo-Tooie. Three Banjo games for less than the price of one?  I'm in.

This is a great business move to get people to buy Nuts & Bolts. To tell you the truth I really just want to play Banjo-Kazooie again in HD and for some points.

Moore's comments didn't feel that contentious to me.  It sounded like a producer talking, not a condemnation for all time of Rare.

And Rare proves that they've got good skill, it's just hasn't happened to set the marketplace ablaze.  Money's part of the industry, but it's not the only valid way to measure the quality of a game.  Good games can be missed when they come out and make no money, and then folks ten years down the road can discover it and hail it as a forgotten classic, so there are other ways to succeed.

I just hope they do make an impact on the market, though, or someone may decide to get producery on them.

Since I'm interested in Nuts and Bolts, and sadly missed out on the original, I'll be pre-ordering it I guess.

Wonder how BK will control with a X360 controller. The N64 was a strange beast of a controller, but worked great for 3D platformers.

Everyone interested in good games needs to get Banjo-Kazooie. It's that simple.

I called GameCrazy a few weeks ago when I heard of the pre-order bonus,  but the guy didn't know about it. So I'll call again when I know they'll have the codes. I really wanna play it again....

It's such a great deal that I actually decided to get Banjo because of the Live release. Two great games for that much? Who could pass it up! I'm just impressed they were able to port a Nintendo game over to the 360 too. I wouldn't have expected that.

If I get mono, do I get to stay home and play video games?

Guess I will have to pre-order this game now, now because I don't want mono or because I want to save $15 I just like pretending I got something free.

I might get Banjo Kazooie (or Viva Pinata while we're on the subject) sometime and same with Nuts and Bolts but they aren't so high on my list.

I absolutely hated Super Mario 64, one of the most over rated games ever. Graphics, Music and Camera are OK, everything else was horrible and if Banjo Kazooie is similar to SM64, I probably won't buy it. I'll try the demo though.

Dude, I don't have Xbox Live! :(

I'm so excited to play Banjo-Kazooie again. It's been years. I'm like equally as excited for that as I am for Nuts & Bolts. Good thing I've got my preorder : )
