Kid Icarus To Return Alongside 3DS Launch

Never played the original so I have no love for the series.
 
Looking at it now though, still have no interest. Gameplay looks pretty boring. Without the IP, it just looks like any other third party PSP game no-one cares about.

I assume it's the usual combination of: nostalgia, most people having played Kid Icarus when they were kids and had much lower standards, and a lack of bad sequels to tarnish the legacy (like Sonic).  All it takes is somebody saying "remember Kid Icarus" and then everyone is just thinking about whatever they did as kids in the 80's.  Repeat for years and years and you have this incredible idea that Kid Icarus was astounding and getting to play another one will be as awesome as being a kid was.  
 
It's not like it has a deep story or compelling characters.  I can sleep at night not knowing the motivations of The Eggplant Wizards.  It's a blank slate that represents everything about your childhood you want Nintendo to recreate. 

Looks crazy.  Looks more like Sin & Punishment and less like a Kid Icarus game.

Awesome. A week ago I was set that I would not get a 3DS and now i'm going to buy one on launch.

About time he got a new game, I was for sure they were gonna announce a Smash Brothers for the 3DS, with Sakurai in charge and all.

Bad voice acting is bad. I wouldn't have been surprised if Kid Icarus dropped a "You are tearing me apart, Lisa!"

Looks like I lost $50.  I bet a guy they would never make another Kid Icarus game.

From everything I have read, I am really excited for the 3DS, and this looks like it will be a good launch game.

The old Kid Icarus game sucks, so I'll happily take a reboot that reminds me more of Star Fox than the original game.

This is the perfect game to lead the way for all the other games that were shown for the 3DS today. Compared to the original announcement of the DS, this handheld is in an amazing place.

Using a stylus instead didn't fare so well in Metroid Prime: Hunters.   The flying sections of this are rail-shootery and even the movement in the on-foot sections looks very right to left. There is no forward or backwards motion that is obviously player-controlled.  Time will tell... "

I can't believe the rumored kid icarus game was finally announced, it feels like thats been shooting around since '07.

I find it interesting that Nintendo walked right into the same mistake Sony made with the PSP. Only one analogue stick/nub/thing. Using a stylus instead didn't fare so well in Metroid Prime: Hunters.

I loved the original and the Game Boy game.  I played that Game Boy game for days, over and over again.  So HAPPY!

This has been a long time coming.

My stream was acting up during this trailer. Is this a 3DS launch title or is it just a DS game that happens to be coming out at the same time as the 3DS?

Man i feel like i did when i first saw the wii, i don't know if thats a good thing or not. Is this thing 2010 or 2011? I WANT.

This game looks fucking amazing.
