Klei’s Making a Tactical Strategy Game Called Incognita

When the developer of Don't Starve and Mark of the Ninja announces a new game, one listens. That’s why I had a momentary freak out this morning when I learned of Klei Entertainment’s latest, a “turn-based tactical espionage game” called Incognita.

There’s no trailer yet, but a piece of wallpaper on the game’s official website seems to have what look like a screen shot--of sorts. Take a look:

Looks hot, right?

I loved Mark of the Ninja!

Hoping for a combination of XCOM, and Gunpoint gameplay wise.

The hottest!

Awesome! I haven't played Don't Starve or Mark of the Ninja, but this looks cool. I'm always up for some tactical strategizing.

Yes Please

I like how the underscore is kinda reminescent of a MGS game. Really dig the artstyle to

I see grids. I am now excited.

Wow. Nels. A man after my own heart.

I would play that.

Looking forward to this

Oh that's who Klei is. Oddly enough I own both of those games.

Seems like they have a good understanding of mechanics and tuning, this should be good.

Really cool to see these developers constantly jumping around genres.

A turn-based strategy game of sorts? Sold.

I really want to see more of this.

Fucking 'A'

I'm ok with the turn-based games being suddenly popular again.

Hmm, odd that I had 0 respect for the Klei name back when they were "the Shank guys" and now I'm interested in anything they're up to. Guess they found a better use of their skills.

Getting a bit of a Shadow Watch vibe. And that's a good thing in my book.

Man, I didn't know that Klei did Don't Starve and Mark of the Ninja. And this sounds completely different too. A tactical strategy game. They're going for the hat trick.

Nah man, best day ever would be knowing what the Persona 5 color scheme will be or a Fallout 4 announcement. On point, after having just completed Mark of the Ninja last week and being an avid fan of the recent Fiery Emblems and XCOMs, I'm interested up in this.

Klei continuing to have a diverse portfolio of games while also showcasing their great art style. Really liking this!

oh dear god, it's looks almost like the exact sort of thing i wanted to play lately. xcom but noir.

(Also, this game looks awesome already!)

Metal Gear ACID?

I'm not Klei's biggest fan but I am one of Don't Starve's biggest fans and this looks like it's more along the lines of Don't Starve than Shank/Shank 2/MotN.

Very interested. Tentative but very interested.

Klei is a pretty interesting indie dev. They actually make and ship a bunch of pretty great and wildly different games with reasonably short development time. They certainly don't lack any talent.

Really digging that art style.

I've not yet played Don't Starve, but I'm looking forward to it on PS4/Vita. Loved Mark of the Ninja and Shank.

Tactical RPGs are the shit. Looking forward to Klei's take on the genre.

Indeed, Patrick. Indeed.

Klei is slowly but surely turning into one of my favorite indie developers.

Man, Klei has really turned it around since Shank and Shank 2.

Dude that looks great

This concept, combined with the Klei attitude towards surfacing sneaky mecanics makes me very interested indeed. Its nice to see turn-based making such a comeback these days.

As with most Klei games, this will be an instant buy.

Klei? More like, These Guys Draw Really Good. amirite?

Posted by huser

Great! Pedigree and sources of inspiration make this a day one buy.

I'm incog-onna pick this up when it comes out!

Actually I'll wait until I see some trailers and stuff for it, but I loved Klei's last 2 games.

So... It's Frozen Synapse, but prettier?

I'm in.

After the success of XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Fire Emblem: Awakening there has definitely been a rise in western-developed strategy game announcements.

I'm a sucker for turn-based games. Anything in the vain of X-com and FFTactics and I salivate like a starving dog in front of a deli on a hot day.
