Madden Dated

Big surprise: Madden is coming in August of this year. I know, right?

If you see this man, please notify the Denver police department immediately.
Electronic Arts confirmed today that Madden NFL 10 will be in stores on August 14 this year, sticking with the month that has done so well for it for so long. The announcement also comes with some thematic terms being used to describe the vibe (and, probably, the focus) of this year's game. This year, EA is presenting "Fight For Every Yard" as its slogan. It's no "run-stuffing gang tackles," but it'll have to do, I guess.

EA also announced that it will be producing a live show that will stream online during the NFL draft on April 25. The show will contain draft analysis and call-ins, the box art for the game will be released, and as the college players are drafted up to to the pros, EA will unveil those players' ratings.

That all sounds like a pretty cool, free bit of entertainment for fans of the game... it definitely goes above and beyond what EA has done to release that information in past years.

EA has also launched the game's official site, which, as you might expect, has more information on this subject. Go Royals!

So basically there will be a 2k style tap button mechanic to break out of tackles?

Maybe we can finally play AS Madden.  Now that would be awesome.

Madden? What is this madness?

@JJOR64

Is this announcement really news? I mean, madden fans knew that this game was coming out, does the announcement of the game itself get you excited? I play fifa a lot, and I get pretty excited every year once a new one is announced, but only once they start talking about new features and stuff.

Now, if they had announced, say, Madden 10: Totally Tween, Totally Truckasaurus, then i'd be stoked.

GO SOUNDERS! Oh wait, wrong football...
But really, if they put Roethlisburger on the cover I will kill myself, and then not buy the game. Then again, he would be stricken with the madden curse, so maybe i shouldn't be too mad.

I'm really happy about EA's new attitude nowadays, and Its nice to see that madden fans are finally getting the same stuff that hardcore fans of other genres have been getting for years.

What about the Wii version, EA has pretty good in taking advantage of its unique offerings. The last Madden seemed to provide as good innovations as PES 08 for Wii, what will they do with this gameplay wise? M+ support like their Tennis and Golf games? Just expansion of the features seen in the last game? Anything?

Do we get to kill John Madden this year

Posted by Killa_KB

madden will be good this year

Posted by Black_Rose

No shit, really?

Posted by HypotheticalSolution76

I bought Madden '08 on the PSP because I wanted portable football. But I wouldn't mind engaging in some season mode on the Wii if it comes out. I heard NCAA football this year won't be on the Wii, but I don't know about Madden. Anyway, maybe the cover this year with be Santonio Holmes or maybe somebody like Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco. I hope there's no truth to the Madden curse though.

Indeed. Madden is quite dated. Backbreaker, on the other hand, seems somewhat fresh.

YAY!! Another Madden expansion that cost $60 bucks. Maybe this time we can cut Maddens sausage fingers off and cook them in our crib.
