Mario, Link, Others Come to Scribblenauts Unlimited

Yoshi, Zelda, Luigi, Mario, Link, Zelda, Epona and a Goron are joining the cast of characters in Scribblenauts Unlimited for Wii U, according to an announcement on GameSpot’s Facebook page.

Nintendo seems less concerned with leasing out its characters for other games. Between themed characters in the upcoming Wii U version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and villains like Bowser showing up in Disney’s Wreck-It Wraph film, the licensing chains have loosened a bit at Nintendo.

Scribblenauts Unlimited is part of the Wii U launch lineup on November 18, but the game itself is not exclusive to Wii U. The PC version, for example, will have integrated support for Steam Workshop.

Another fact, since Scribblenauts was published by Konami in Japan, you can conjure up Solid Snake and Old Snake on the Japanese version!

I kind of lost interest in the WiiU version once I learned that it would also come to 3DS. I ended up buying both of the games that came out for the DS, so it really feels like a portable series to me.

Anyhow, I'm still looking forward to killing more babies with bugspray when this does come out.

Hell yeah for the PC version. This is going to be amazing.

Yes adjectives, and a bunch of other improvements that sound great.

"As well as the adjective system that was introduced in Super Scribblenauts, players can now attach multiple objects to each other; for example, creating a dog with wheels. Furthermore, there are numerous properties that can be assigned to objects, such as movement and offence capabilities. Players can also customize their objects with scaling and coloring tools, similar to another 5th Cell franchise, Drawn to Life. Customised objects can be named and saved - typing in the name of a saved custom object allows it to be spawned at any time."

Yay Goron! I remember in Ocarina of time when you defeat the dungeon the Goron sage calls you his brother; I always thought that was really cool.

Gonna play the hell out of this on PC. The modding community will make this retardedly cool.

Wreck-It Wraph is actually the little known Japanese film the Disney one is based off of. Lots of people make that mistake, don't sweat it.

Good thing it'll take five seconds for someone to throw them into the PC version thanks to Steam Workshop!

i dont think the intended audience for this game its going to buy the pc version,(a 20 something buying this game on steam seems pretty weird)

The best part of having a modding community for a game is that we can just add in all these platform exclusives ourselves.

I'll just assume these will be modded into the PC version.

As I scrolled to the top of the page, I was a bit creeped out when I saw "Dig Deeper into Princess Peach".

Anyway, a neat addition but I'm much more interested in seeing the steam workshop stuff than this. The dota 2 items I've seen recently have been amazing.

Think he meant you can't use adjectives with the Nintendo characters.

If you think that's creepy, you should see some of the pictures attached to that wiki page.

"Exclusive" and "Unlimited" are odd words to put so close together.

Wonder if the PC version will have the Team Fortress 2 crew in it?

the 3DS version doesn't have the object editor, though.

That's pretty adorable. I'm not getting my system till the Monday though, and would feel real dumb preordering and buying a game the day before.

I never comment on news stories, but I feel this warrants a "Cool, maybe I'll play this Scribblenauts games since I missed all the other ones."

The concept of these scribblenauts is great but for some reason it doesn't keep my interest for very long and I just mess around in the intro/sandbox area of the game making god fight godzilla with lightsabres or something.

I actually love the way they look in Scribblenauts' art style. Would be cool to see them in their own game, like... say... a Paper Mario game.

Sticker Star is supposed to be out before the end of the year. I forget the exact date.

But Scribblenauts Unlimited is looking pretty awesome.
