Mass Effect 2 PS3 Will Use Mass Effect 3's Engine

Oh no... must not... rebuy ME2...

It's a shame that Mass Effect didn't stay 360 exclusive. Hey, I have a PS3, I just feel the identity is suited to Xbox and they really need that cool image, cause Halo is done! You know some people specifically bought an Xbox 360 for these games and feel it's a slightly unfair that Sony is getting all this catch up, but ME2 only sold like 2.5 million copies so can understand where BioWare is coming from.

Don't know why they would tell us that, it doesn't make me more excited for ME3 if this is what its going to look like

That trailer was for ME3, a massive hint was dropped since some reapers were raping the London eye.

I guess this new version will let you edit every major decision that was to be made during the first game. And there's some graphical comic that takes you up to the actual character creation part, allowing for you to also choose who you boned and all that. "

A lot of people felt the same way for Final Fantasy 13. They bought a PS3 just for that game alone, then they announced it was coming to the 360 also. A lot of PS3 owners felt slighted.  Fact of the matter is, console "exclusives" are pretty dead nowadays.

Good for those who only have a PS3. Mass Effect 2 is easily the game of the year for 2010.

I may pick up a copy of Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 when I finally buy a PS3, because I just love Mass Effect 2 enough to buy it a second time on a different console.

Not really. Back in the early days it gave kinds an identity and a true choice for what system suited them e.g. Mario or Sonic. The reason I bought a PS3 was because on Uncharted and Killzone, had Sony not had these titles I would have just stuck with my X360 like alot of other gamers, Playstation would have lost the next gen. race and we'd all be at the mercy of Microsofts crazy pricing schemes. Could still happen! It is dumb but competition is good for the consumer. "

Here's to hoping we'll see a MASS EFFECT TRILOGY BOX completely in the Mass Effect 3 engine then!
 
Well.. ok that will probably never happen but one could at least dream of a Mass Effect marathon with all three games being enhanced and optimized with the ME3 engine! Oh God I would definitely play that trilogy till I'd either pass out, my console bricks or.. well I reach the end of Mass Effect 3.

I am just interested to see how exactly it's gonna look better, considering that the game has already been realeased and mode for the ME2 engine, this means the textures couldn't be any bigger or better made because that would mean to redo them. 
But stil Bioware are doing a great job with this release.

I doubt there's any significant improvements at all.  It's still UE3.  At best, they likely optimized it a bit more. (allowing them to use better graphical settings on weaker hardware)  PC version is still king.

Also, they should patch in the interactive comic thing into the other versions of ME2.  I coulda sworn Casey Hudson came on the bombcast before ME2 came out saying that the questioning sequence just after the start of the game was going to allow you to choose the important decisions for you if you weren't importing, but it never did. (Forcing you to either replay ME1 or use the community powered solution of downloading a saved game to make a new character that didn't use the default decisions)

From what I saw, this just mean more contrast. None of the rendering seemed to be of a higher quality. But considering the assets are all the same, it's hard to know.
