Mass Effect 3 Delayed into Early 2012

It sucks that I'll have to wait longer, but I definitely want them to make it perfect.

I would rather them spend too much time than not enough. *glares at DA2*

Also, they announced this delay so far ahead of the assumed release that it isn't really too bothersome. Its when they delay a game a month before release that it really stings.

Look what happened to Dragon Age when they had a short dev cycle.  This is good news.

As long as they use that time to make the gui on PC version actually work like a GUI on a PC version should work.

No surprise there. There's other games coming out in the fall, so it doesn't bother me at all.

Is there any way I can filter out news relating to this game? I want to go in completely blind when it releases.

I live in the moments between mass effects :( the only thing that would keep me occupied until then would be another red dead :( 

Hopefully it won't turn out to be like DA 2.

Pretty much knew this would happen as soon as the game was announced. This will help it in two ways that I can see: the game will be more polished, and it will be easy for marketing to tie it in with the "world ending in 2012" BS to sell more copies.

Definitely. Bioware damaged it's brand with the sloppy way they rushed DOA2 to market.  It would be foolish to not make sure ME3 is well polished gem.  I love ME too much to see it rushed for a buck. "

Thank God!  Now I Can take my sweet time playing Skyrim, and Witcher 2, and Starcraft 2!

Mass Effect 2 was released in Q1 and that was part of why I loved it. Something to play after the holiday rush

Hopefully BioWare uses this time to improve on ME2 with more rpg elements. I can see the concern based off Riccitillo's comments, but it's probably difficult to hit that "sweet spot" between shooter and rpg.

Still, this delay  is probably for the best.

its prob cause dragon age 2 that there taking extra time.

I only beat the sequel less than a year ago, so I don't mind waiting.

Well, that clears the playing field a bit more for the other GOTY nominees.

Better to have a well-polished game with more maps and contents rather than some crap that was released a while ago.

Gives me more time to think about playing ME2.

I'm actually relieved that this happened. Now I don't feel pressured to complete Mass Effect 2 as quickly as possible. That plus it'll give Bioware more time to polish it up even better.

awesome, this means the game is getting multiplayer. yaaaaaaaaay! i mean what good is a sci-ci rpg WITHOUT multiplayer?

I think this is for the best. I think they learned a lesson or two from DA2.

I want this game to be the best story-driven game I've ever played. Take your time, Bioware.

Sad trombone?  On the contrary, this calls for a happy fanfare.   This game must be good.  It must be polished.  The series deserves nothing less.  

I don't understand why people are dumb enough to not see this as a good thing...

I am disappointed I won't be able to play it earlier, but appreciate giving it more time to make it better.

I don't really understand how the first game had more depth..  It had an inventory system that was used for nothing except breaking down items into omnigel and a slightly more elaborate skill tree.  I really don't know how anyone could call removing clunky features to be dumbing down..

That said, DA2 was pretty poorly received and apparently ME3's been delayed to make it "appeal to a wider audience".  Some have taken to assume that means more dumbing down or adding multiplayer... But I'd guess that they've gone back to add more RPG elements.

Sweet! This gives me more time to beat Mass Effect 1 & 2.

Giant Bomb's the only website where I can see "Mass Effect 2 Delayed" and laugh.
