Mass Effect 3 to (Finally) Support Same-Sex Love Interests

Why is "finally" in the title of the story?  You are somehow implying that EVERYONE was calling for this change?

People complained about this? That's a little ridiculous. Not that I mind this, nor should anyone because you can simply ignore it if you want to, but it seems a little stupid that people complained about this.

Lets hope my Fem-Shep gets more options than boring cadet Jacob, Garrus or Thane who I had to take as a consolation cause I stuffed up on dialogue option in the beginning. No same sex for me personally though, but good for you if that's what you're craving!

My female characters have always been able to pursue love interests with female NPCs. I suppose it's a double standard if 2 males can't have a fictitious in game relationship too.

My only problem with this, is why Bioware all of a sudden feels like there needs to be "gayness" in everything they do now. I mean, not every movie out there has a gay main character, or even a gay side character. Sometimes a movie comes out where there is no homosexuality in it whatsoever. Sometimes a movie comes out that's all about homosexuality. At times it has both, other times it has neither.
Point being, not everything has to have homosexuality, and I'm not sure why Bioware thinks it does. They must have higher ups that are gay or something, right? Or they are being paid gobs of money by GLAAD to look like they support gays.The other ridiculous thing is the fact that all of a sudden Shepherd is gay? We go through two lengthy games where he shows no signs of homosexuality, and in fact is a lot like a "Han Solo" type character that is lovin the ladies. Yet all of a sudden in Mass Effect 3 there are going to be people that come along that make him want to be gay? I mean come on people...

As a bisexual duder I find it more offensive that people are advertising it than not having it at all, like it's some sort of gift to the world. If they want to do it, sure, fine, go bananas (hehe) but it shouldn't be something to draw attention to, any more than the protagonist of Gears being straight and not at all ramming Dom up the ass with his Lancer.

So much homophobia masked behind empty criticisms about video game romances.  Seems like there should be less of this going on in 2011 than I'm seeing here.  Nobody is being forced to into a romance option.  The idea that someone would be outright offended that an option was provided that someone other than yourself might take advantage of is demonstrative of a much deeper seated issue.

The '(finally)' bit seems a little stupid. Commander Shepard is a character with his own interests, sure the player may end up deciding almost everything for him, but he/she has to keep some sort of independence. I'm not against this whole same sex interest thing, but it feels like Shepard's character has been decided and now BioWare is starting to create a 'every-conceivable-option-game'. I'm not against this whole homosexual thing, but I'm not supporting it.  

Well, the FemShep/Liara pairing was always essentially a lesbian relationship. Yes, I know the Asari only have one sex and people call them androgynous, but sorry: they have boobs. Thus, they might as well be female.
