Are Mega64 supposed to be funny? Have they ever actually accomplished it? Every once in awhile, some game site links to one of their videos and they're always just a bunch of miserable fail.

I think the point that they made was that the time of year that TGS is held leads to there not being a whole lot of new stuff being shown off. Theres also a cost/benefit analysis that has to be done here...one of the best reasons to go to GDC is that you don't have to fly to fucking Japan to do so, it's practically around the corner for them.

...Why are you so defensive? First off, the phrase of Jeff's post "it's also getting me hyped to go to GDC this year." basically says they're going to be going to this year's GDC. And I don't really care that they didn't attend TGS. I actually don't give a crap. It's just that they often spoke about how they decided not to go for plenty of reasons, one of them being that news from that event wouldn't be worth it. But I would think gaming news that would be relevant to this site's audience would be revealed as much from GDC as TGS.

First of all, your comment was kind of strange, because Jeff was really only showing the Mega64/Loading Run Ready crew's ads for the GDC 2010 and I didn't see anything in that post from Jeff that mentioned what GB were doing regarding the event. I've loved these guys since the original series that was made into the first DVD. So good. If you ever have a chance to go to one of their panels, do it. They're hilarious. :)

Huh?! How is the Game Developers Conference not relevant to gaming site news wise? Have you actually been to a GDC?

GDC is a often the event where developers will show off working products many months before the other more general consumer oriented events like E3. I've been to a couple GDCs myself and once saw iD's Craig Hollenshead demo Return to Castle Wolfenstein some months before iD had made a formal announcement of the game's progress. After the preview he opened the floor to discussion and questions which was great as we were able to ask the more probing kinds of questions than are usually part of the consumer show media circuses. This is a common thing that developers do at GDC.
