I'm surprised with Pokemon X/Y and Monster Hunter 3, those would be perfect to show off your characters with.

@hailinel: right now looking at Life with Horses 3d screenshots..... facinating..... I'm a morbid man. But Honestly wouldn't mind posting like a screenshot from Mega Man 2 and go "This dragon still is awesome"

WAIT A MINUTE? There isn't a Life with Horses 3d giant bomb page? maybe that's for the best.

No, purchases continue to be tied to hardware. You can transfer from one system to the next (I just did from 3DS to 3DSXL) and freely redownload if you delete stuff to make space. But you are in a tough spot if your 3DS gets stolen (if it bricks or you put it through the washer or something, I think Nintendo customer support can help you restore to a replacement).

The hope is that eventually they'll transition to a fully device-independent account but this is only a minor step towards that.

There are only fourteen or so games with Miiverse communities, last I checked. I don't know of any list, so your only way to really tell is to go into Miiverse while playing one of those games and seeing if the option presents itself when you create a new post.

Really Quick Question: Does this mean your purchases are now tied to your Nintendo Network ID account now instead of your physical 3DS? I really want to purchase Pokémon Y but I am scared to buy digital games on the service due to this issue.

Note to self: Start a Fire Emblem: Awakening screenshot thread in 2015. (We both know that if they're going to add legacy games, they're going to add that legacy game.)

They'll add communities for legacy games as time goes on; don't know which games will be added when, though.

@mormonwarrior: No problem. The way Miiverse screenshots work is actually not that different from how they work on the Wii U.

That seems kinda clunky. Taking an in-the-moment screenshot seems tough in that case...I guess I'd have to hit the home button right when something happens? I'll mess with it later.

@mormonwarrior: While playing a game with a Miiverse community, press Home, and open Miiverse from the menu. When you create a new post, you can attach a screenshot of whatever is currently displayed on the top or bottom screen. Then you can exit Miiverse and continue on with your game.

I set it up and it's pretty cool. How do I take/post screenshots from games though? I only know how to do that from Animal Crossing because it's a built-in feature in that game.

@crithon: Things like that tend to get moderated quickly. And Miiverse or not, it's still the internet.

Me too!

It partially serves the same purpose of Swapnote, but it's hard to say if they would have continued support of it with the launch of Miiverse regardless of the incidents that led them to shut Swapnote down.

so, is this a replacement for removing swapnote?

Hopefully this helps in attracting the 3DS crowd to consider a Wii U, and hopefully Nintendo implement a cross-buy system and perhaps start releasing HD versions of their 3DS eShop exclusives for the WiiU.

Because I have a US 3DS and a European WiiU I doubt I'd be able to link them together anyway. So that's a bummer.

The pokemon section already got some awesome art. I'm loving this.

Miiverse is cool but I was most excited about the L+R to activate camera change. I lost count of the number of times I accidentally activated the camera

That's because its easily the most heavily moderated community.

They'll open communities for older and less popular games later. Can't flood it with a hundred+ communities all at once.

I realize this is something that won't affect a LOT of people, but I was kind of surprised by it: if you have money in the 3DS eShop in multiple currencies, it will *delete all other money, nonrefundable* when you do the conversion, so make sure to spend any money outside your home country first.

(In my case, it's because I live in Canada, but my mom lives in the States, and buys me gift cards for holidays. So I had both Canada and US eShop money.)
