Mr. T To Bring Interactive Fool Pitying To PS3, 360, Wii, PC

Zootfly is making a game about Mr. T fighting Nazis. I'm pretty sure I didn't just make this up.

Still not convinced any of this is really happening.

ZootFly has announced plans to develop a Mr. T game based on the "official Mr. T graphic novel license" held by Mohawk Media. Why do I feel like this is some kind of elaborate prank?

Oh, because the release goes on to say that the "first game" (implying this will be a series) has Mr. T fighting "Nazis and their giant machines" across multiple environments. Characters from the Mr. T graphic novel will also appear.

One of those characters is apparently Will Wright, which is the part where this whole thing--which was barely hanging together by a thread to begin with--blasts apart and does severe damage to my psyche. In the Mr. Tniverse, Will Wright is an American geneticist who is kidnapped and forced by the Nazis to work on something truly evil. As the release goes on to say, "Mr. T and Will Wright will join forces to annihilate the Nazis and their hardware."

So, to recap:
  • There are Nazis.
  • They are evil.
  • Mr. T will fight them.
  • And he will fight them with the help of the man who developed SimCity.
  • My head exploded right around the fourth step of this breakdown.
  • This whole thing sounds like an interactive fever dream.
  • I now feel like someone's been watching me sleep.

This is the last Mr. T game i attempted to play.

OK, got it? Good. If anything, this should end up being a bit better than the last time Mr. T appeared in a video game, which I'm pretty sure was the Atari 2600 version of The A-Team... and that game wasn't even publicly released.

If you're after more confusing text about the game, Justin McElroy had something to say about it on Joystiq today. And Destructoid's Nick Chester interviewed ZootFly on the subject today, as well. Me, I'm going to go rest my head for a minute and see if this all goes away.
