New 50 Cent Trailer Confirms New Publisher, Confirms Total Off-The-Chainness

OK, fine. I'll admit it. I find 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand to be a compelling idea and am quite interested in playing it for myself. There. Done.

If there's one thing that 50 Cent is good at, it's getting skull. And if there's one thing that THQ is good at, it's keeping it gangster. So it's obvious that there's no better fit for 50 Cent's desert-based skull hunt than THQ.

The company, which has officially picked up the rights to release Swordfish's third-person shooter when Activision cast it aside after picking up Vivendi and its whole lineup, released this new trailer. Take a look.

You know, it's easy to roll your eyes at the very notion of a 50 Cent game, especially when you consider how the last one turned out. But that trailer and the game's premise seem delightfully silly. Plus, 50 Cent makes a better, weirder protagonist in this sort of desert setting than Gung-Ho Military Type Who Doesn't Take No Crap #17 would be.

While I'm absolutely, positively tired of 50 Cent's endless, desperate attempts at self-hype and his petty attempts at starting beef to keep his name in the headlines, Virtual 50 is still something I'd be very interested in checking out... even if the dialogue delivery in this trailer is completely awful. Actually... that probably makes it better.

Look for the game in stores this January.

Perfect. Absolutely. Perfect.

The narrator just makes that trailer.

This game will probably end up selling well no matter what kind of reviews it gets.

to 50 this is actually an interactive memoir.

I hope I can collect Vitamin Water stock.

Posted by grainger

wow, NO! haha

something tells me this game will suck

Looks like they're going for the silly and fun type of game, kind of like saints row.

I cannot deny that I liked that trailer.

Sorry, I can't find this amusing, even as a joke.

But, I'm not american. And, as 50 cent only had an appeal in the US I guess that's normal. He did come to Brazil once, but his show got cancelled due to low tickets sellings. I find him to be ridiculous, and only that.

This is obviously going to win GOTY 2009... from spike TV.

Haha I might have to pick this game up or atleast rent it to see how it is when it comes out.

I can't wait to play 50 Cent and the Kingdom of the Bling Skull!

Wait did they just shoot his Bulletproof vest?

Is it true that this story is based on 50's childhood?

Posted by wakkoloco

i dont like 50 cent's music, or anything related to him, but the game looks awesome and has pretty good effects, this game may be better if they change the protagonist but the whole meaning of this game would be lost if they do that

Posted by Double0hFor

didn't he say he would retire if Kanye beat him? which Kanye did.......WTF

Posted by ScottEFresh

The trailer was actually good.  The game will suck but hey it had a good first trailer.

Posted by yellownumber5

as long as the gameplay is passable, it might be worth renting for a weekend to crack up on the over the top gangstaness.

*SPOILER* this is the story -  so 5 dimes aka boo boo, its tryin to get a skull back but why you might ask your self  well for one reason only to show it to the police, cause he is a snitch. so the real gangsta in the game steals the skull back cause he dosnt what to go back to jail and then trys to kill boo boo, but boo boo lifes and trys to get the skull back so he can snitch . G-UNOT

The announcer said Fiddy Cent. LOL
I'm all over this. It's like an over the top Action Flick, and I love those.
Grab the popcorn, fiddy is goin to the desert. w00t

The trailer looked better than I expected to be honest. I still won't be buying it though, purely for the fact it's all 50 cent gAnGZtA.

Posted by TabooTongue

Buy a game that mixes corporate pop culture with war mongering... No thanks.

Posted by Sephiroth9997

Maybe after 50 retires next year he'll work exclusively on yearly sequels. *crosses fingers*

Posted by bgenso

LOL zomg, well potentially easy / fun achievements? lolifer

Posted by zoozilla

I admit: I LOL'd when the voiceover guy said "Fitty Cent".

Posted by Afroman269

Holy shit that was funny. Its pretty hard to see him in a serious role like this. I hate admit that that trailer actually entertained me but too bad that the trailer is going to be only good thing thats coming from this game. Its all downhill from there.

Posted by Jtan21

So before I saw the trailer, I thought getting skulls referred to him killing people...but it actually turns out to be getting actual skulls. Hilarious. I feel strangely compelled to play this game, such an excellent example of a bad-good game. So bad it's so good.

This game looks excellent regardless of the inclusion of 50 cent, but as a 50 fan I am way more into this than I would be normally. He wasn't kidding when he say'd "he aint even gotta rap now."

Posted by Hef

I almost threw up watching that trailer.

Posted by daniel_beck_90

this game will be awesome

Posted by reversethedevil

Oh jeff.... lets play some shackfu. so uh... looks like the title is Fifty Cent.. not Fitee cent. so if they want to call it Fitty they'll have to make up some new numbers.

Posted by ElectricHaggis

Go away 50 cent!  Leave me alone!
