New Mass Effect Comic Series Focuses On The Illusive Man

Sure, we'd like to party with Mass Effect 2's Illusive Man, but we're also down to learn a little bit more about the mysterious Cerberus shotcaller's background. Conveniently, Dark Horse Comics is giving us just that chance in the coming weeks with Mass Effect Evolution, another four-issue mini-comic series created in collaboration with BioWare--the studio that created the Mass Effect universe and everything inside it.

Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 lead writer Mac Walters will have a hand in the series, as well as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic's Jackson Miller. Omar Francia is the dude behind the art, which you can already get a glimpse of via the BioWare blog and its seven-page preview of the first issue.

Redemption wasn't really all that great (though that may be because I'm not the biggest Liara fan), and I can't say I've enjoyed any of the online ones (I hated the one focused on Bailey), but this...I'll give Mass Effect in comic form one last shot, I think.

Nice, I enjoyed Redemption it was a great prelude to ME2 & the lair of the shadow broker DLC. I really love the ME universe, It takes everything good about popular sci-fi and somehow manages to make it better. I hope they continue to make comics in the ME universe even after the trilogy ends.

doesn't look too good, and doesn't look too bad. However isn't Mass Effect 3 going to be the final entry in a Trilogy of Games or do you think it's going to keep going on and on and on and on. I mean cause if Sheppard or whoever kicks reaper ass after the next game what else is there to do, how big can you make this universe if the conflict is gone.  
 
And how many more herons will you be able to sex up without dying a horrible death from being a space bound badass spreading his seed amongst the galaxy.

Never been interested in either of the novels or the comics, despite my love for Mass Effect. 
 
Mass Effect games have a great story and characters, but I don't really have a high opinion of videogame/movie-based fictional novels.  
 
I may "obtain" this comic and purchase it later.

I hope it's better than the last shit that they put out.  Redemption was so sub-par that it fucking hurt.  

I find it odd that in this comic they just encountered the turians, yet they can speak to each other.

The only Illusive Man story I want to hear is how he dies a horrible, grotesque death.

Neat, I've always loved reading upon game stories whether it be novels or comics. Doesn't mean I'm going to read this (unless I find it on the internet for free). Heh, heh. Heh...

Sweet! Mass Effect: Redemption was pretty essential in understanding everything in Lair of the Shadow Broker, so I will definitely pick this up when it comes out!

That cover has me thinking that The Illusive Man would be an awesome squadmate for a final battle.  Also that he might be one hell of a threat if you have to take him on.

Sorry for being so mass effect noobish, I refused to play part 1 when it came out in 07 being a gaming snob and giving it the Jeff G "I played an hour of it and hated it (concerning RDR)" attitude, then I saw it was coming out for ps3 on a new engine and wanted to play part 1 so I got it on steam for 12 bucks thanks to holiday sales. Blew 30 hours of my life away and didn't fully explore the universe. Only to get part 2 for PC a few hours after beating 1 for 20 dollars, purchased all the DLC that had missions and blew another 40 hours of my life away and explored every inch of the galaxy and Boned Liara, Jack, and Tali. I fear that I'm going to die importing this character into Mass Effect 3 because he can't control his dick.   But man the fucking grin I had on my face that all of those scenes played out on top of the fact I kicked the collectors ass. Man I'm jumping right back in for round 2 as a renegade. I don't think I've ever played a game where I actually wanted to play through it a second time instantly.  "
