Nintendo Confirms 3DS Launch Game Line-Up

Very close to canceling.  Nintendo made a mistake deciding to put off the higher tier content--there are too many good games coming out this year and I have only so much money set aside.

Pretty weak lineup for a Nintendo system.

I'm excited for the hardware, but I too am not very excited for the launch lineup :-(

Nintendogs....  Has anything changed from the original, besides the cats?

I have a 3DS on preorder, but I'm not excited by any of these release titles. I'll have to think if I should wait until better titles arrive.

A second disc and region-free would have been all I needed to make this a no brainer. How did they not learn from the psp? Once you hit a particular threshold in what you can do with 3D worlds, the second stick is a must. Touchscreen look is never acceptable. I tried really hard for Dementium and Metroid, but it just doesn't work (aside from being difficult to use accurately, it causes me physical pain after a short period). I'm just left so conflicted now, though probably still a day 1. I know good games will be along in short order, and I'm actually pretty happy to pick up 5 of these (Monkeyball, SSFIV, Steel Driver, Pro Evo, and Pilotwings), but why couldn't they strive for that extra little bit? I want to think it's because they feel like they got burned trying to  "keep up with the Jones'" technologically in the GC era, thus pushing them to put that on the backburner in favor of other innovation. Now I just want them to get burned again, but not so bad that they can't do both next time around. I'm always reminded of what could have been (fucking unstoppable).

Nintendo is releasing three games on day one.  You know, Pilotwings Resort?  Nintendogs + cats?  Steel Diver?  No, there's no Mario or Zelda or Kid Icarus day one, but there doesn't need to be.  So quit bitching and wait for Ocarina of Time 3D to come out in June or whenever if you're really that desperate. "

Actually, as far as videogame system launches go, this isn't that bad. Certainly better than the original DS launch. Of course no Twilight Princess caliber titles though.

I really don't see why the hell people are excited to play pilot wings and all of these old ass games again. Seriously it's not that great.

that's a pretty lame lineup, but i'll still be picking it up on the launch day. it's too bad that professor layton and doa aren't making it to the launch, cuz none of those games sound especially appealing. looks like i'll be using my 3ds to play black and white versions for a while since my ds no longer works..

Man, they didn't even have any gameplay of the battling.

I want to say I will wait for some better games, but the allure of a new gaming hand-held may be too much. I make no promises, because viewing my track recorded I will probably buy it day one.

Those games all seem terrible for my tastes. I think i'll be waiting for a system price drop and some better titles before  I even consider getting one.

Super Monkey Ball 3D is the only game I've preordered with the system.  There are a few other games that seem okay (how bad can 3D Lego Star Wars be?  Do I want to buy a portable version of Street Fighter?), but I'll wait for reviews.

There's some good games there. LEGO Star Wars III, Bust-A-Move Universe, SUPER Street Fighter IV, etc. There's some good stuff, however, nothing here seems to be a killer app. I mean, if I wanna play Street Fighter of LEGO Star Wars, I got my PS3 and Wii. Already bought and everything! Another port of Rayman 2? Super Monkey Ball? The Sims or Samurai Warriors? Yawn. 
 
Then again, I'm not 11 anymore. Maybe if I were, and could get a new system by begging my parents for one, than maybe I'd be more excited. Maybe if I saw one in person, the 3D would seem fresh enough a gimmick to care about ports. But I've been a Nintendo fan all my life; not a fanboy - I'm not blind. It's taken me 5 home consoles and many handhelds, but I've finally gotten wise to them. I'm simply going to wait a year or so and get a 3DS Lite. Getting a system at launch is moronic.  
 
But the launch games look fine to me. Better than the Japanese launch for sure, and at least as good as the launch library for the PSP and first DS. Gonna be awhile before I see something like a killer app I think. Kid Icarus was the thing I was most excited for, then I heard they were doing those wretched "touch screen = mouselook" controls that tank each and every first person game on the current DS. So that's a pass now ; maybe SEGA's Sky Soldier Rodea will have controls that aren't offensive to the hand, because it looks pretty much like their Kid Icarus. Just designed a lot better (flight and fighting are one and the same; they're not broken into "flight stage" or "combat stage" awkwardly, like Kid Icarus)

Maybe releasing the AAA titles later was a tactic to reduce the day 1 demand...?

If Nintendo is really going to charge $40 for a Pilotwings game that only has 3 vehicles on a rehashed island from Wii Sports, I think they will have sunk to a new low.

Well this confirms the 3DS is not a day one pickup for me. 

Want to wait, and I can say that now. 
But I'm probably going to sit home on the 25th playing it.

No titles that would really move the system. This seems to aim more casual audience first then the hardcore/fans towards the end of June. Each game is either better on a console or there is a way better game to invest in.  Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition seems okay there is SSF4 and MVC3 with Mortal Kombat coming out aims more towards a pass. It seems better to wait till summer to buy a 3ds. Looking forward to Zelda,any Mario adventure game and Rpg games.

Damn... that's pretty disappointing. Sadly the only game that looks really interesting is the Tom Clancy game, and not in a cool way to demo the 3D... way.  Pilotwings would be a no brainer if it wasn't set on the damn Wii Sports Resort island that I've already experienced. The best part about those games is having a relaxing flight and enjoying the scenery.
 
I still have time to cancel my pre-order and get a video card. I just wish I knew the 3DS would be in stock later in the year if I don't buy at launch. AHH TECHNOLOGICAL INVESTMENTS!! :(

I can't wait to play Steel Diver but I can't decide on whether to get the Dio or Kill Switch Engaged version.
