On Steam: A Painful Amount Of Cheap Elder Scrolls Content

Get all of Morrowind and Oblivion--seriously, all of it--for an absurdly low price.

How much would you pay for the third and forth entries in the Elder Scrolls series, Morrowind and Oblivion? What if they threw in every single expansion released for those games, from Morrowind's Tribunal and Bloodmoon to Oblivion's Shivering Isles and notorious Horse Armor pack?

If you answered "$28.19," then get thee to Steam--the service has an "Elder Scrolls Game of the Year Deluxe Pack" special going on that includes every piece of content for both of those already mammoth releases, for less than half the price of a new retail game. For those of you looking for a way to stretch your gaming dollar in this still-tough economy, I can't think of a higher price-to-value ratio anywhere right now. Throw in the incredible number of mods released for both games over the years and you may never need to buy another game again.

And when you get done with all that questing, you could spend your time making videos like this!

Shit, I might have to get this for the Morrowind expansions alone! I have most of (the important) Oblivion expansions, but this is a great deal.

Oh wait, this has the FULL games as well?! There is no way I can pass this up.

The graphics were too.  The glint off of weapons, the lush forests...

I'm not interested in Oblivion expansions, and I've already got the expansions for Morrowind.  Nice deal though.

Posted by Chris2KLee

Totally worth it. Until you can get mods on consoles, the PC will always be my place for Bethesda games.

Posted by Icil

Damn, this is a good deal. I've played the hell out of both, but for 30$, I'd do it all again.

"And when you get done with all that questing, you could spend your time making videos like this!" ....OOOR, I could get a real life.

I have the GOTY for my old XBox, but Oblivion would be tempting...

And apparently dominoes aren't allowed in my country.

When it tells you you have to install something that is a gigabyte in size, is that really necessary to use Steam, or can you just skip that part?

This is quite possibly the greatest thing to happen to humanity since the combination of chocolate and peanut butter.

If only I had a computer capable of running Oblivion...

I briefly played oblivion on 360, and for some reason I didn't enjoy it. It's the kind of game I should like, but I just couldn't get into it. But at those prices, I'm considering giving it another shot. Maybe if I play for more than a couple of hours I'll break through a barrier and I'll get into it. Well the offer lasts for a few days, so I don't have to decide right away.

Horse armour?? YES!!

Oh and it's the same price in the UK btw (£17.53), which makes a nice change.

Whoa.

I have Oblivion on the 360 but I really should buy this on the PC. What a great price for all this content.

Posted by ImWayGooderest

At that price I almost considered buying it again.

Oblivion, it's been a while.

Posted by linfosoma

I got it for $25, right before they modified the price lol!

Posted by AndrewB

I already own both and half the expansions... damn it, Steam... now I want to drop down money on games I already own so I can have it one click away, and a complete collection!

Posted by Demonstride

That video must have took hours...

Posted by ShadowKiller

I need a credit card...

Posted by Systech

Let's all say it: Speed Tree.

Posted by George_Hukas

I just re-bought Oblivion GOTY edition on 360 and this is still a good deal

Posted by PureRok

Wow, I already own these games... but I'm going to buy this just to say I saved money on lots of awesome.

Posted by MeatSim

Even at full price Oblivion is worth it for the hours of gameplay it has this is just a huge steal at this price.

The only value that comes close to this is the orange box being only 20 bucks.  Man, Valve and steam really know how to give people great deals.  No wonder Gamestop hates these fools.  They are selling games at cheap and no having to deal with crappy store employees.

This makes me with there were Steam cards like Microsoft Points Cards.  I would way rather buy stuff on Steam but I lack a credit card.

Posted by ververdan0226

Nothing painful about that price...

Posted by rateoforange

Wow. Sold!

I was JUST NOW thinking that they should do this. I just completed Fallout 3 on my PC and was thinking about digging out my old copy of Morrowind and starting a hunt for the expansions online. Seems like my problem is solved. Fantastic !

Posted by Aaron_G

That is a great price.

Crystal Balls finally have a use

Posted by Death_Burnout

Hurray i can buy my 3rd copy of Oblivion and 3rd copy of Morrowind for the PC!

Im actually happy because i couldnt find Oblivion for the PC recently...

AND all the DLC! totally buying it!

Edited by Crono

I have been searching for my Oblivion disc for over a year now.  I think this just solved my problem.  Also, that video was pretty good and somewhat interesting lol

Eh, I think everyone's exaggerating over this deal it's a 3 year old game that's already going for $19.99 Canadian (for GOTY), the PC version lacks achievements, and Morrowwind is even older.

The price is okay...

You're just pissey because you can't do something nearly as intricate.

I guess it's time to get into Oblivion then, especially with all that content.

Even though I still own the 360 version, I never got any DLC plus the fact it'll run much better = me a happy camper.

@Scroll: Xbox live had a deal on all the Oblivion DLC for 60 points each at one point....

edit: This was on april fool's, so everything cost 60 points, but Horse Armor was raised to 1000 :D

Good games don't go out of style.

Awesome! I was actually thinking of loading up Oblivion on 360 again but was holding off because of the loading times. Going to buy this right now.

Also, Nirvana + dominos = win!
Posted by Vafthrutnir

I would get this if I didn't have all of it already. Great deal.

Posted by Mcfart
@Crono: Oblivion's a great game.....the Steam deal...not so much, espically that's only for US, anyone else has to pay a premium.
Posted by Blitzer
@Mcfart: I'm in Canada and only payed the advertised price.

In the UK is's £17.53, which is pretty much dead on the current exchange rate. No premium.

All we have to pay is the exchange rate, and the cdn dollar was at 91 cents....not sure what premium you're paying.

Account-linked purchases are the way of the future, and I bet Gabe Newell knew that. I'm glad Steam is the company that leads in this sort of tech.

It's good that gaming stores hate Steam. I hope Gamestop dies. I looked at their product catalog: they use the same kind of stupid, sensational advertising style that penis creams and police radars you see in the back of some magazines. It's clear that instead of caring about video games, they prey upon whims of customers to increase sales.

Edit: Quick grammar fix.
