Payton Definitely For Sure Working on Halo

Holy moly expectations for this project just reached a new level.

Yeah, one of two guys destroying the whole plot with crazy retcons and shit. Gameplay was amazing though.

"oh, let's make the monkey an alien. Oh, let's make Otacon become Liquid, then take away the arm and give him a new but hypnotize him to still belive he's liquid (yeah, read the MGS-database on the PS3... he's fucking insane this Payton. Keep him away from the story!

Pretty good move for Halo, he had a profound effect on Metal Gear so I can't wait to see what he does with Halo.
If he is indeed working on the Peter Jackson Halo game it's at the very least enough for me to start caring about the project which until now I've considered vaporware.

If you're talking about gear for your eventual XBL Avatar, It wouldn't shock me at all to have this sort of stuff available as DLC.  I'd really like to see it attached to achievements in some way, though.

I thought Bungie kept the Halo license?

i feel bad saying this, but i'm kind of over Halo.  the first game was so epic amazing, but the sequels have been decidedly less stellar.  great multiplayer game, but i'm a campaign and story guy through and through.

theres at least 3 halo projects in production: this one, halo chronicles, and halo wars,
and if you add the bungie halo 3 expansion project then theres 4

I'm more into what BUNGIE is doing. I could care less about what MICROSOFT is doing with Halo.

Since so many of us are talking about Halo, I'm just going to chime in with my pipe-dream of a wish. Microsoft seems to be capitalizing on their fabled franchise, albeit apparently tastefully, so why not give me my DLC of the Mjolnir armor set, plasma sword, and assault rifle for Too Human. That would be sick. Alright, bring on the flames.

I'm happy for Payton he seems like a cool guy and helped make my favorite series even better. I wish him luck on whatever this Halo game may be.

How did he betray Sony fans? He's just working on something new, not like it's destroying the PS3 or something. I didn't think people could be so closed-minded...

Microsoft is, as always, sucking up talent. Hopefully this game will be multiplatform.

It is pretty amazing the amount of respect this man has garnered from a production position.  Really how many production names are common knowledge amoung the gaming community.  He knows what he is doing and is turning into the P Diddy of video games, soon it'll be all the small time devs dreaming of having Payton working with them.
