Persona 4 Will Not Be Enhanced

If you're buying Persona 4, know that you won't be dropping more money on an upgraded version down the road.

Apparently this game requires a Pentium 4 to run.

Atlus issued a press release this morning aimed at silencing the fears of the Persona loving people of this world. You can rest easy now, safe in the knowledge that Atlus isn't planning on releasing Persona 4 this December and immediately beginning work on an updated, enhanced version of the game to get you for more money down the road. This is, essentially, how Persona 3 went down, with the release of Persona 3 FES.

The PS2 RPG will release on December 9 and will ship with a partial soundtrack disc. For people wanting to engage in all types of retail offers, pre-ordering customers will get a 100-page art book. Additionally, an Amazon-exclusive package called the "Persona 4 Social Link Expansion Pack" will expand your social links via a plushie, a calendar, the rest of the soundtrack, and more.

As someone who severed his ties to the world of console role-playing games sometime after Beyond the Beyond was released, I tend to glaze over and think about female cage fighting whenever anyone tries to tell me anything about an upcoming RPG. But for whatever reason, the Persona series still calls out to me... even though I haven't played one since the original. I can't explain it. Perhaps I'll finally make time for an RPG and play Persona 4 next month.
