Atlus developed Catherine to dip their toes into PS3/360 development, and it didn't take nearly as long to develop as you seem to think. Much less your foolish comparison of the game to Lode Runner 64.

@CH3BURASHKA: I like both the Persona 3 and 4 characters. I do prefer more of the Persona 4 characters, well bascially the entire Persona 4 cast, but some of the Persona 3 characters really stuck with me like Shinji, Akihiko and Yukari.

Oh man, what do I do? I'm only about 10 hours into P4, should I stop now and wait till The Golden or keep going? First world problems, man!

That is tough... I say beat the game you started. You get to see the classic in it's original form. Plus when you do play it on Vita you'll notice all the updates and additions to the game. You might be saying why would I want to play through it again? Well I went through the same scenario when they released Persona 3 Portable but I found the female main character, updated battle system and just general additions to be great and worth a purchase. You'd be surprised how well the Persona battle system translates to a handheld RPG.

Chidori has more pathos in her little finger than the entire cast of P4 combined. Don't get me wrong, I'd agree that P4 is a stronger as an RPG, but not everyone is going to join the Gerstmann-wagon for a character as vapid as Chie.

It is likely at least a year away from release in the US (longer in Europe).

Unsurprising to say the least. Persona 4 Portable (yes, it's not called that. But still.) will be a slightly updated version of a game we already own. Doesn't this echo Square Enix at some point? I mean, they haven't gotten that far yet, but it's only a matter of time before we start seeing a situation that mirrors the constant re-releasing of Final Fantasy IV on every platform imaginable every 18 months.

This fighting game however... yes please. If I can murder Fuuka or maybe Ken as any member of the persona 4 cast, this will be a fighting game well made.

Looking forward to playing through P4P again tho, loved that game. Also, here's hoping the 3DS gets a new SMT announcement soon.

P4P on Vita makes sense to me. Atlus has traditionally pushed ports on Sony's portables (Persona 1-3), while Nintendo gets the new games in the series (Strange Journey, Devil Survivor).

So what´s up with Persona3DS then? is that a new game I don´t think Atlus is down to port Persona 3 again , Im kinda curious now that I know about this, still conflicted about  Persona 4 portable (whatever Im calling it that)  I don´t want a damn Vita but I´ll probably buy one just for this game

@mutha3: Mate, I said Sony's portable platform got the ports, not the PS1/2/3.

DS got all the interesting portable titles. Nothing against more Persona, but Nintendo was the way to go for new, portable SMT experiences. And this wasn't meant as an attack on the PSP/Vita.

What? WHAT? Persona fighting game? I guess that's kinda cool, but I don't know how much I'll actually enj- FROM ARC SYSTEM WORKS? As well as what I wanted/expected to happen eventually: a portable version of Persona 4?

Good news for me since 3DS's are region locked. Plus don't the carts have pretty low storage capacity? Would be a bit lame if they had to cut content for a 3DS version like P3P. Can't wait to see the new content in this Vita re-release.  Fighting game definitely has potential as well, being by Arc and all. Exciting times for Atlus fans.

I was going to get a Vita anyways so I'll definitely be picking this up since I missed out on the PS2 release of this game.

I'm pretty sure that the 3DS carts are 8 gigs or something, which leaves ample room for pretty much any game, considering the resolution that the games are played at.

Hmm... Persona 4 on PSP Vita... I wonder if that means a PS3 version isn't too far away.  I WANT to play Persona 4, but I'm not sure if I ever will at this rate.  Then again it does make me interested in a Vita more.  (Still nowhere near sold yet)
