PlayStation Vita Dated December 17 in Japan, Lots of Ports Announced

I'm getting that thing and all them games. Yum.

and then i got ones in the car i use in the car so , that just takes the cake,

and facebook- i can do that on my 3ds phone laptop etc skype i dont use, i can go on with all these useless features , i want games and if our launch line up is anything like this , i will be waiting! for 6 months ill just pick up a few games but the system will wait ,

the line up japan has is exactly like psp , lol minus driver and gta, !!!!!!

and the good titles, only one exciting is uncharted and ridge racer - thats pushing it as i have ridge racer enough already,

and hmm dec bad timing, 3ds has its guns , and price that will obliberate this 3 hour system ,

people on here saying oh im getting , well then your a hypocrit because this has like 2 good titles, and a bunch of ports like the psp /3ds/ds

I didn't care much for FFX but man, if they put FF8 on this thing I'll buy the shit out of it.

How did Nintendo's presser make the Vita seem less valuable? The 3DS can't even do half of what the Vita does and that's not even thinking about video games... Also, how does this seem expensive in comparison to the 3DS, which was $250 btw. If you want to compare it to the PlayStation 3 than yes it might seem expensive, but compared to a 3DS or iPhone or iPad, not expensive at all.

It could be an interesting system, but Nintendo's conference the night before really made the Vita seem underwhelming (and expensive).

You are in the minority...FFX was and still is a beautiful experience. It honestly doesn't need an HD remake because it holds up all the same. Now if they do make this remake HD and send it to US PSN, I hope it's the international version with all the extra content that we missed out on.

Couldn't watch either of these conferences.  Nintendo was too crazy, Sony was too boring and I was too American.

All these ports, handheld gaming isn't really for me any more. They seem to be catching up to home platforms. I liked the DS because you could still get 2D sprite based stuff on it, like the SotN style Castlevanias. The Vita and to a lesser extent the 3DS don't really offer me anything unique beyond touching to control a limited version of a game I have kind of already played, its hard to justify paying for a whole new handheld just for that.

Do we know what they're going to be charging for games? They've got a couple of good games in that lineup, and they could have a great opportunity here to undercut the 3DS. Or do they have their heads in the sand and think they can get away with charging $50+?

Did they really have to mention the Micheal Jackson game? That's a lot of games at launch? hope GB does a whole day of showing them

How much you want to bet that the FFX remake will also come to Xbox? Obviously they won't announce such thing in the Sony conference though, but you know it's coming since Square knows they can't ignore Xbox audience.
 
Also, FF12 is better than FFX in every way.

@algertman: Seriously? You haven't played things worse than FFX? then my odds are you don't delve deeply into the genre because FFX is a solid game all around IMHO. However each man is allowed their opinion and thus you have yours. Personally I hope this opens the way to FF12. I have a first gen ps3 I could play it on but I rather have a snazzy HD port.

I really hope not. I mean, looking at the digital re-release of the previous Final Fantasy games on the PSN, the copy you purchase there allows you to play it on both the PS3 and PSP. I hope they continue with that strategy.

I am looking forward to this handheld but I'll probably wait until there is a good set of JRPGs out for it.

So Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be ported from PSP to Vita? That's pretty funny.

Even with looking back and seeing my PSP collect dust since day one due to lack of geniunily appealing releases, I still think I will jump on the Vita boat. I have been thoroughly dissapointed with my 3DS, even with the shit-list they gave for free of NES games. Devil Survivor Overclocked and Ocarina are the only 2 games that have tasted my money from purchasing and I don't see a purchase in the near future except for maybe a first-party release but who knows when those will finally drop.

It's the PSP all over again. Console ports no one wants to play on the go.

I was already sold on this thing the first time I saw Gravity Daze.

The lineup of confirmed games for this thing is HUGE. We'll see how it looks come release date.

@jakob187: Meeh...Nintendo launches pretty much the same freaking game... I'm a sucker for high definition so I'd pay for it anyday rather than having backward compatibility in SD

I'm so glad Sony learned how to be Nintendo. O_O Don't get me wrong: a lot of the HD remakes they've done have been pretty cool things, but at the same time...they COULD'VE just continued offering backward compatibility.

I hope they launch it in North Amercia early next year, March at the latest. I already got the little fucker paid off in full so I'm just curious about the North America launch titles. Would be great to get Uncharted and Modnation day 1.
