Prince of Persia HD Collection To Be PSN-Exclusive In North America

It appears as if the Prince of Persia HD trilogy Collection won't see a physical release in North America, but that doesn't mean North Americans won't be able to get their hands on the HD re-mastered titles at all. Ubisoft has revealed that three games in the packaged will be released separately on PSN in North America. Keep those wallets handy, eh?

The collection was first spotted as a European-exclusive set that combined Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, and Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within on a single Blu-ray. Like the God of War Collection before it, and even more similar to the Sly Collection, the Prince of Persia Collection features 720p HD visuals and 3D support.

Sands of Time is already on PSN.  Came out today.  $15 USD.  So yeah.

I've played the first POP a ton of times, the second and third twice. I might want to revisit the second at some point but otherwise I think I'll be fine without this.

There's an awful lot of collections coming out on the PS3 it seems. Sounds cool though, never got around to playing Sands of Time (or any of the triology for that matter).

 Getting sick of exclusives. At this point everything like this should be cross platform considering the games were on the Xbox to begin with. Or since Splinter Cell is Xbox exclusive that is the reasoning behind this. I might go with the latter.

Meh. Rather than buy them on PSN, I'd prefer to just import the European version. I may just do that.

I like that they're putting them on one at a time, especially since I only really want Sands of Time... as it was the only really good game in the series.  Simply put it didn't do any of that "WE'RE EXTREME BLOOD AND GODSMACK AND CRAP!" stuff.

And what's with all the hate for Warrior Within? Yeah the Godsmack shit is pretty corny but damn if the choices in combat aren't fun to make. Am I gonna hop over this guy or steal his weapon? How about BOOOOOTTTTTTHHHH!!!!!

I want a Ratchet and Clank and a Jack and Daxter collection. I never got around to playing those games in the PS2 days and would love to get a box set ala the sly copper one.

if they need a blu ray disc to hold all 3 games, they could release each of them online... my 360 has more storage space than my ps3 ! 
 
And concerning the european bluray, my guess is that it will be region free, so you could buy it online

This makes me nervous. I like boxes, and would prefer a Blu-ray collection myself, but if it's never going to come to disc, then I'll buy the PSN title. However, what if it DOES come to a disc in 6 months. All three of them. That'd be a bummer.

Hey I really liked the 3rd game Two Thrones.  I can understand why people shit on Warrior Within but please explain to me why Two Thrones is considered crap.

i only want to replay the sands of time(specially on HD with trophies), the other two are not necessary, so i'm ok with this

I wonder how many of the people saying Sands of Time was the only good one actually played the other two. Both had their faults but they're both vastly superior to the 2008 game and there haven't been many "cinematic platformers" (as Wikipedia calls it) to that standard since.

Either the "HD" versions of this look like shit or i just remember the games looking better, either way no disc = no sale and i don't care for importing.

Eh, kinda wish NA was getting a disc, but I'm really only interested in played Sands of Time so this kind of works for me.

Well that just about kills my interest in this. Not that I was terribly interested in playing games from the last generation anyway. It's not exactly nostalgic till at least two gens back.
