Remember Me's Developers Have Announced a New Game

Life Is Strange episodically follows a woman discovering the ability to rewind time.

I'm not gonna argue Remember Me was 2013's best game, but it was one of the most interesting. It warms my heart Square Enix is partnering with DONTNOD Entertainment for a new game, the episodic Life Is Strange.

(What a cool title, by the way.)

Life Is Strange, announced today on Square Enix's blog, follows Max Caulfield's return to Acadia Bay, Oregon, after five years away.

"Upon returning home she discovers that Rachel Amber, a fellow senior at school, has disappeared under mysterious and rather uncomfortable circumstances. While trying to uncover the truth Max reunites with an old friend, Chloe, and makes a startling discovery: Max has the power to rewind time..."

The game's appears to center around unintended consequences. If you could rewind time, should you? You can't predict what might all might change, and Life Is Strange will most likely deal with all the potential bad stuff.

We don't know when Life Is Strange is being released, but it'll have a formal unveiling at Gamescom this week, and it's set to arrive for every platform but (drum roll) Wii U.

I was quite impressed with the art direction of Remember Me, and the memory remixes were the definite highlights of the game. If only the game focused on that aspect more instead of the lackluster combat and platforming, and maybe brought up the moral dilemmas that come with messing with people's memories, it really could have been a landmark title for 2013.

Would have probably been more excited to see a sequel that expanded on Remember Me's foundation. However, the news that Dontnod still has the resources to develop a game that still has the elements of a AAA production and the basic conceit has to do with the moral implications of rewinding time makes me optimistic.

And hey, more female leads that probably won't be overly sexualized! Always a good thing to see.

Remember Me is one of my top ten games of all time. I always say the say thing though, you've got to play it in the original French audio to see how good it really is. Amazing soundtrack, gorgeous visuals, interesting combat, and genuinely unique story moments.

I'll be all over this.

I really enjoyed the combat and graphics from Remember Me. Hopefully they sell a complete edition or season pass for this though, because not everyone will be want to pay per episode.

They clearly have some talent, despite it's flaws Remember Me had some neat ideas so I'd be excited to see what they could do.

Like Mirror's Edge, Remember Me was a good game that got unjust hate. Hopefully, a sequel will emerge and I look forward to this one as well.

Definitely on the same boat as Scoops when it came to Remember Me. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this one.

Remember Me had one of the coolest and most atmospheric openings ever. Awesome soundtrack too. Remember Me shouldn't have had combat. It was slow and unresponsive. Also boring. The characters should have talked much less too. Explain less and show more of the story.

Oregon could be an interesting setting. Great news they are getting a new project.

Hey, I think this is sort of cool. Remember Me was not perfect, but I did like the ambition and style it had; so, I very much look forward to this game. This will go on my Amazon wish list for sure.

Based on these comments, I should go back and play Remember Me. I think I got a free copy or something somewhere...
