So, that rumored Slant Six and Capcom Resident Evil collaboration is real. This morning, Capcom Europe unveiled Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, a team-based third-person shooter. It appears that the game will primarily be played by two four-person teams, who are competing against each other while simultaneously dealing with zombies and other "Bio-Organic Weapons."
As for other modes available, Capcom has promised that Slant Six will “deliver a number of competitive online multiplayer modes,” all of which will “provide a unique gaming experience.” Despite the game's cooperative focus, it will be playable in some sort of solo format, as well.
Slant Six, you may remember, is no stranger to squad-based shooters. Some of the studio's past work includes multiple games in the SOCOM series, including the downloadable PS3 release, SOCOM: Confrontation.
Raccoon City is slated for a release this winter across the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
