Retailer Listing Says Medal of Honor Beta Starts July 5

No word on pre-order exclusive beards. Yet.

It appears that we'll be getting our beard-and-gun on in EA DICE's portion of the Medal of Honor reboot as early as next month…in exchange for a pre-order, of course. A recent listing on Play.com reveals that the shooter's multiplayer beta will launch on July 5 and will end shortly after, on July 17, for all pre-purchasers of the game. Vouchers for the beta will be issued via email on the start date.

EA still hasn't officially issued any details about the beta (after acknowledging that there will be one) in North America. But if this listing is accurate, it looks like you'll have to advance GameStop (or maybe other retailers) some cash in order to participate. Not that this is an unusual practice or anything--just be aware.

Here's the Play.com listing, which will probably look similar to the inevitable North American one:

Pre-ordering Medal Of Honor from Play.com will give fans the opportunity to join the Medal Of Honor multiplayer BETA when it goes live on July 5th 2010. The BETA will take place between July 5th and July 17th - access codes will be emailed on July 5th. All pre-orders through Play.com will entitle customers to an access code. BETA access details are subject to change at any time.

It seems likely that Medal of Honor's multiplayer component will be a big focus for EA and DICE at E3 2010 in Los Angeles. EA has shown the single-player portion of the game multiple times (check out that other Brad's take on it), but has yet to publicly show what the Battlefield developer has up its sleeves for the online portion. I'll go ahead and guess it'll be good. SO EXCITE.
