Rock Band 2 Free Downloadable Tracks Coming 11/4

I saw The Cab at a Rockband Live concert. They are pretty good.

I HAVE to get this game now that BTBAM are in it. Love that band.

In response to the Semi-Precious weapons being fun to see live, they are.  I saw them at the Viper Room over the summer, one of the most amazing things I had ever witnessed.  I thought glam rock was dead and then I saw them play.  Awesome, can't wait to play it.

Putting BTBAM on ANY music game is automatic win!  Again, I would've preferred "Selkies", but "Prequel" is perfectly fine!

These are basically the bonus tracks like in RB1. Did you guys really think Harmonix would give away big name songs for free?

X Japan makes this list amazing. Even if I don't end up liking the rest that one song makes me have so much more respect for Harmonix.

Well I do really like indie music but most of these aren't that great still...I would have appreciated something rather than Between the Buried and Me...*shudders*

It's not free - free would be after we bought rock band an announcement comes that says "we are giving you 20 more songs for free!"  These songs were included so they could put, in big letters, "OVER 100 SONGS!" to try and look better than GH:WT I guess.

Since we didn't know these songs until today though, you can't say you bought the game based on these songs.  It would have been nice if they said "20 more hand select indie songs to come" - at least expectations would be set correctly.  It this what's killing the stock today? lol (Seriously, I think it's Spyro killing the stock...).

Overall, I'm okay with the list - I'm sure there will be a few in here I end up tracking down a CD of the artist.  I just cringe at the thought of the random set lists picking these tracks, and being on vocals...

ok well after listening to a bunch of these they all kinda sound like more famous artists....Lesley Roy is paramour jr. lol. As for it being free....there is no such thing as a free lunch and that applies here as well. It's not as if you bought the game then 3 months later it was announced that you'd be getting 20 free tracks, the game shipped with the promise of the tracks so these tracks were probably calculated into the original retail price. In addition you have to factor in the advertising qualitiy of the offer of 20 mystery bonus tracks (I'll take the mystery box!) they might have convinced you to think "hey free stuff these guys are cool look they're giving away songs for free!" , or "Hey a total of n+20 tracks thats alot of value to be had, I am so there!" and then purchasing the game. 

When a product says 30% more free are you really getting 30% free? Of course not you pay for, it in that they're already overcharging you for the original product or they build up brand recognition and next time you go to the store you'll buy that product even if they stop offering the extra "free" amount. 

I do however think I got my 60 bucks worth of gaming content out of the core rock band 2 material as to not be upset at the fact that the bonus content is....um not that great....seriously Lesley Roy? (I always feel bad for the band members in outfits like this that are never mentioned but thats another story.) I just think it's kind of naive to say that it's free so you can't be irked that you don't like the new songs.

It's just a shame that us UK folk won't be able to download these FREE songs...

Yeah....I didn't really expect much from the bonus tracks, I only know one of them, but this really feels like they went out and found the cheapest songs to license just to fulfill their commitment of 20 songs.

Besides Between The Buried And Me and Underoath.....yeah this kinda sucks.  I was hoping for some more popular stuff....Just maybe one Opeth song?  No?  FIne.

I am sure there is a gem or two in there. Still, not many well know bands (for me anyway). Thats cool though. Seems like there is too much metal in RB lately. I am just not a fan.
