Sony (Europe) to Offer Select PS3, PSP Games When PSN's Back Online

Don't know what to think of this quite yet.

If psn will ever ge4t back up ...

That sounds great. I don't own any early PS3 games, which are the ones liekly to be offered. I only have God of War. Infamous 1 would be pretty much the best thing.

I assume it will just be PSN games not full downloads of retail games?

I bet I already own all 5 PS3 games they offer. Lets hope not hough.

I was wondering about this, since I own quite a few PSN games already, hopefully they'll offer a selection in the states that includes something I don't have.

Outland would be really nice, assuming it's on the store when it comes back up, and I haven't caved and just bought it on XBL by then.

Somewhat better news: I've heard from a bunch of places that if you call Sony, they'll tell you that Japan is getting their PSN back online tonight. Which means ours should be coming back extremely soon.

I say just give us $100 each credit in our psn wallets for us to spend on whatever we want

I just want the online working and my subscription extended for lost time.

I wonder if I can snag these with my EU account when it comes back up? Or maybe they finally took the opportunity to fix that little oversight as they rebuilt the network... If not, I'll be grabbing things from different territories if it's something even remotely cool.

I'm with you.  THat's the only PSN game I can think of off the top of my head I'd want.

Wonder if they are just going to go with the least popular PSN/PS3 games out there. Wouldn't be surprised if it's things like Lair & Haze for everyone.

ive finaly snapped with this ive been un caring so far ive not been effected but all the inconveniance they have caused thousands of people  there fans  with the  network being down during mortal kombat and portal 2 release not to mention people needing to get new cards and had to get there money back from banks and they have the balls to say "here is a gift  as a apology ..you may only have half" for fuck sake ¬_¬

The real value of digital distribution ... companies can give you free stuff by way of apology and it doesn't cost them a thing.

Usually they give away crappy games that nobody plays when they do things like this. It's a good gesture though.

I'd wager that they will be mainly older titles and/or things that aren't selling very well..  Still, this is a much better goodwill gesture than I thought we'd get.  Hoping for some Modnation on the PSP, I was planning on buying that recently.

Glad to see an article written for a global audience too. I see a lot of articles from American sites written as if only what happens in America matters. They dont bother with anything else.

I'm guessing they will be PS3 exclusives. If so, I'll take  DC Universe Online (2 months paid),  Killzone 3, Socom 4,  Infamous 2, and a move bundle.

This will probably be the same for US, the only difference will be selection of games i bet.

And what about people with multiple region accounts? will they be able to download the freebies from each region? that seems incredibly unfair if they let that happen.

I hope I can get different stuff from my UK, Japan and North American accounts.

Realistically I'm sure we mostly suspect they'll be a selection of smaller PSN games that you'll have seen on sale in the Special Offer section of the store time after time, rather than any huge multi-gigabyte sized blockbuster titles.

Then again, it shouldn't really matter should it... we'll have the PSN back.

I reckon the games will be what most gamers already gave - such as Assassin's Creed 2, or if it's a PSN game, it'll be something like Castle Crashers or Fat Princess
