Terminal Reality To Patch Ghostbusters' Multiplayer

A year later, you'll be able to unlock the achievements!

Terminal Reality reminded me of two things with two separate Facebook updates this week: that (a) it is indeed working on a Kinect game, and (b) Ghostbusters: The Video Game still exists.

In its most recent Facebook update, the studio confirmed that it is poised to slap a band-aid on the multiplayer component in the Xbox 360 version of Ghostbusters later this fall. This update will fix glitches that made it rough, for one reason or another, to unlock achievements in that mode. According to the post, the patch is currently awaiting "approval for distribution," but has been tested and completed.

While not busying itself with a patch for a game that came out in 2009, Terminal Reality has been working on Def Jam Rapstar and a Kinect title, as was rumored a billion years ago when we still called the hands-free gadget Project Natal. Oddly enough, this game has been announced and shown before: it's that Star Wars title that had its official unveil during Microsoft's media briefing at E3 2010.

Can Terminal Reality capture Star Wars as well as it did Ghostbusters? We'll have to see, but one thing is for certain: dudes will make sure to patch the game if it needs it. Eventually, that is.

I do need to play Ghostbusters still but I'm gonna wait until it's 10 bucks.

It's in the current steam sale if that helps

I hope that was a sarcastic comment Mr. Nicholson...

Has the PS3 already been patched?

Terminal Reality To Release Not-Broken PS3 Ghostbusters Port

I got the steam version, only because it was $30, and didn't look like a $60 game.  The steam version didn't have this problem, because it had no multiplayer.

I need to play this game sometime in the future.

Yeah, me too.

Problem is, the Steam version don't go no multiplayer. For no reason.

Game's probably pretty alright, but shitty port jobs suck.

Yea, a long time ago.

too late! I just tossed this back in the mail to Gamefly.

Well, considering their so called Patch on PS3 improved pretty much nothing, Im very skeptical of this.

Didn't doubt the game was still out there as I played it recently & enjoyed it. I do doubt the MP part as I completely forgot about it being in there like many other games where Mp prolly shouldn't be in there (for a game like this I'd rather have more missions in single player than MP).

@bigdave184:  If you only want the Single Player you can get it off steam. Multiplayer is sadly omitted from the PC version.

Someone should tell T.Reality that they are a year to late.

I quit playing Ghostbusters when I very clearly completed the requirements for one of the acheivements and it didn't unlock.  So this will be a good reason to bring that title back out and go for an S rank.

People are still playing Ghostbusters multiplayer? Well that is a surprise. I'll admit I do enjoy the singleplayer in this game, the multiplayer seems completely boring.

I'll pick up the game again if they patch the multiplayer, it was hella broken when the game came out.

Looks like I'll have to buy a copy for the cheap price of $10-$20 so I can finally unlock those.  I couldn't get the most wanted ghosts and the "finish the campaigns" achievements because you had to show up LITERALLY for the very very beginning of each campaign to get the achievement.  Total bummer.

Great game, though.  Loved it immensely.  With my newfound quest to S-rank some shit, this will definitely be on that list now.

Excellent, now when I actually play the game I have a chance to grab all those sweet achievements

Why bother?  The game was alright, but not great or even good.  Are people still playing this one at all?

Not as easy to patch in, apparently.  Bustin private servers makes ya feel good.

I hope they patch the latency. It almost impossible to smoothly capture a ghost online without your beam going all over the place. I've never played a mp game so broken out of the box and go this long without getting fixed.

Why?

um..... better late then never??

The launch of Ghostbusters: The Video Game was soooo long ago. Does anyone still remember that game?

I had been saying for a year that they were gonna patch this... and no one believed me!  Now who is laughing?!?  WHO IS LAUGHING NOW!!!!!!?????

Hey remember when that shitty Alone in the Dark game was gonna get a patch to fix the controls? What ever happened to that?

The only thing Rap Star really has going for it is the Def Jam license. And that thing will end up being more of a hinderance since this isn't 1998 and there are many other (dare I say better) labels out there full of fresher artists. Unless they surprise all of us and allow NON Def Jam acts into the next game (which sadly won't include Def Jux due to the beef over similar names).

let's just hope Hamonix gets into the lyric recognition game next time.

No wonder that star wars game looked so crappy.

Play MW2.

I'm surprised so many people thought it was a bad game. I actually enjoyed that game a lot! The multiplayer was only fun for a couple hours, but the single player game was good all the way through I thought. The 360 version has a 79 on Metacritic, so I'm not alone. Pffft, your opinions are stepud!

Better late than never. I love this game.
