As much as I want one, I'll hold off a month to see if the shit hits the fan... again. However, I'm fairly sure Microsoft wouldn't risk a similar fiasco twice in a row.

It doesn't flash green in order to indicate failure. The guy on the GB video said the power symbol lights up red.

I'd not mind getting one but, I really don't want to re-download everything i've purchased.

From the specs it seems as if you need a new xbox to get the  kinect port, so that means you need the new xbox to get Kinect. That seems a little poor to me (someone who already owns 2 xboxs which will be worthless when the new one arrives), although I do like the redesign, finally you can get HDMI and optical audio out without the need for cramped and silly useless component cables being in the way also built in WiFi was a must. I mean if every other modern console out there including portables has WiFi, then the xbox should also have it

Nice not to see red rings but I'm still going to get a warranty on this thing when I get it, I can't trust MS anymore.

 instead of flashing red, it just doesn't show you anything. That'd be one way of getting rid of the RRoD.

I want an Xbox to Silver Ring

I'm a fan of the phrase "whisper quiet"

I gave my Xbox to my brother after i got the RRoD and had bought a new one.  He went on youtube, followed some video and had it fixed within an hour.  All he did was take off the metal heat sink and replace them with some foam heat sink.  Thats not even a repair.  That has to have been caused by a short from heat expansion. 
*edit*  Also note, he has never owned a Xbox, and has never even opened up an electronic piece of hardware before.

No one is too pretty to suck, if you ask me.

Replaced is a small sound file of Will Smith saying 'AWW HELL NAW' that plays when an RROD occurs.

"The passing away power down" or "The frozen screen of doom".  Both competing for the RROD's spot. I'll still get one, though.

I just think it is funny that the PS3 and 360 essentially switched looks.

I thought instead of a red ring the small light on the power button will flash red. That's what the guy in unboxing video said.

Everyone talks about the lights. I think its more important to ask MS if the Xbox360 Slim will also be covered by the 3 year RRoD and E74 warranty

if i had the money to blow, i would totally get one of these things.

So if it flashes GREEN now when it craps out, what color does it flash when you turn it on or connect a controller? They're not using the same color to indicate the console's life AND death now are they?

Hopefully, this model won't die as easily to get you to see that flashing green.

Will it really be the same without the red ring? I kind of wish they kept real buttons vs touch ones though.
