The Walking Dead Sells a Million Episodes

I haven't picked it up yet but am certainly planning on grabbing it on PSN as soon as I have the time.

I already bought the entire "season" before the launch. Should be getting the next episode in a week!

I don't like zombies, but this is good news for adventure games.

The first episode has me totally pumped for the next episode. I wanted to play through it again the moment it ended but am going to wait out all the episodes before I do that to see how far the decisions branch out. At least that's what I'm still telling myself.

Approximately one every calender month was I believe what was said, so technically as much as two months could pass between episodes.

I could be totally wrong though.

Well deserved. It is really good. For both the adventure game as well as the TV series' fans.

The Walking Dead universe, whether it be comic, show, or game, is great because it isn't another mindless gore fest.  It is about the characters.  It is about the interaction.  It is about how we change as people when confronted with an absolutely terrible situation.
 
The zombies take a back stage to some quality story development.

On PC Walking Dead is only sold as a full season. In other words this really is some serious PR bullshit. Every PC copy obviously counts for five episodes, otherwise they wouldn't have worded it like that.

Wait, is it coming out this month or the next? I was under the impression it was this month.

Awesome, I quite enjoyed Episode 1. I was hoping to be able to play the next one by the end of this month, but I say do what ya gotta do to make a good game. I'd really love to know what the details of their production schedule are, maybe episode 2 isn't even done yet.

Very cool news, hope it does well for them. It was a small gamble and it really paid off, works very well. Can't wait for future episodes.

I think this is the game to make me love Telltale again. I have to buy this soon.

I think the thing that impresses me the most about this title is the art style. Using a weird perspective type you really feel almost a 3-d sensation without the sore eyes. Can't wait till episode 2

The first episode was fantastic. The storyline let me choose exactly what I would have done in the character's position, and it fit seamlessly. Mad excited for the next.

It's true that I actually cared and wanted to save Clementine. Very different from the show where I wanted every annoying kid to die.

Huh, I had heard good things about it but even on the back of the TV show I didn't think it would sell as well as it has.

The wording definitely is misleading. Let's say that people only bought it on PC where you can only get it as a season which is 5 episodes. That equates to 200,000 copies sold. Granted I know this probably sold very well on the Xbox and PS3 but TellTale do have a very large and loyale PC fanbase and that's where I suspect that's where most of the sales have come from.

I bought the pack day 1, good for them, it was fantastic and can't wait for the next 4 episodes

I was really impressed by the first episode. Can't wait to get back in and try the other story choices.

It's much different than the TV series. One notable difference is that I actually liked Clementine (little girl character), unlike the kids in the show, who are as dumb as a bag of rocks. Actually, there's one of those in this one, too...

It also doesn't drag on like Season 2 because, well, it's a 2 hour game.

Very happy it has done so well for TellTale. It was an exciting first episode, and I can't wait to see where they go from here.

Additionally: the comics are VASTLY differently (better) than the TV series.

Good for them, they absolutely deserve it. The first episode was one of the best serious adventure/point & click game I've played (and I've played Broken Sword, The Dig and the Gabriel Knight series).

Telltale has really redeemed themselves after the Jurassic Park game.

I'd rather endure a zombie apocalypse than wait a MONTH between each installment...

I've watched like 3 or 4 people play through the first episode, it actually looks kinda fun. I'll buy it once all 5 are out and it's cheaper.

Im looking at some prototype 2 ads on the site, and i just realized you probably reviewed it because you got paid to, and never bothered to play the best game of 2012 which is kid icarus, probably because you didn't get bribed to. giantbomb please dont go downhill and become greedy pigs. be fair.

I'm happy for Telltale for this. I'm still playing through Tales of Monkey Island, and the feeling of "I've done all of this with other characters before" is really starting to get strong. If they can successfully diversify their approach for different IPs, they might hold the Adventure Game Throne for a long while to come.

What do you mean, "next month"? DOOOD, no.
