THQ Offering Free Games With Darksiders PC Pre-Orders

Like ravaging angels and demons with pointy weapons and horses? Do you enjoy the sweet satisfaction of figuring out complex dungeon puzzles, or discovering a fresh item to store on already weighty utility belts? If you answered positively to the majority of these questions, then it appears as if Vigil Games' Darksiders is right up your alley. But the game's forthcoming Thursday PC release makes me want to ask you another question. Do you like free games? Good, because you'll get one if you decide to pre-order digital versions of the game with several participating retailers.

Steam pre-orders, according to publisher THQ, will net the pre-purchaser a free copy of Titan Quest Gold Edition. Direct2Drive, however, is offering Red Faction: Guerrilla, while GameTap is dishing out Company of Heroes for free with each pre-order.

Awesome deals hope the PC version is good, not sure the game is for me though.

Too bad I already own Titan Quest Gold and Red Faction: Guerrilla... Company of Heroes is awesome but I'm not playing on replaying it.
I won't be buying Darksiders on day one but will pick it up for sure during the holidays :)

Played Darksiders on the PS3 and cannot stress enough how fun and entertaining it was. If this incentive of free games with pre-orders isn't enough for PC gamers to get it then they're sorely losing out.

Normally I'm not one to point it out when something is old news, but these pre-order offers for Darksiders has been going for a couple weeks already.

I think they did the same thing with the 360/PS3 versions where there was a coupon or something in the box. Though not all boxes came with it which made me a sad Cybexx....

You know, it would be really cool if they put out a demo for this instead.

The only game I like out of those, I already own which is CoH. Well I also own Titan Quest but I don't like it. Still it's a good offer.
 
Anyway, when I get Darksiders it'll be the 360 version for the achievement points unless the PC version has GFWL achievement points.

Wasn't impressed with Darksiders demo on 360 so gonna pass on the PC version. Plus I already own all those games.

Loved Darksiders enough to get the platinum. I recommend it to all PC gamers who missed it on the consoles.

I almost feel like double dipping just to support Vigil, as I totally loved this game on 360.  But I already have all the bonus games on Steam, so perhaps waiting until a sale is appropriate.  For those who haven't played it yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

It's a bit of a shame that THQ feels they need the incentive of a free game for Darksiders to sell on the PC. I hope that's not a sign of they lacking faith in the PC conversion. On the 360 it is definitely one of my favourite games of this year, so far. I do hope it does well on the PC, as it is a game that deserves a lot more attention than it received at its original release.

Why is this news? Steam does this all the time.

I wont pay full price for a game that should have been on pc a year ago. And then trusting them that they wont butcher the port in exchange for a crappy game. lol.

Except I'm guessing - and please correct me if I'm wrong - that neither of you have even actually played Darksiders on the PC, and as such are in no position at all to be saying how 'fantastic' or 'awesome' it is.  What happens when the PC version is a train wreck?  Will Giant Bomb give me a refund?  I don't think giving a totally unguarded recommendation on a product without first-hand experience of it is very smart, and I don't think using hard-sell marketing speak when giving that recommendation is very appropriate.  Even if it does come with a 'free' copy of some x year old game. "

Goddammit, I have all three games already...

Too bad I've had those three games since last Thanksgiving's Black Friday Steam Sale with the THQ complete pack.

I have no interest in the PC version, but if you're on the fence I cannot recommend Darksiders strongly enough.  If you have any interest in adventure games it is simply a must-play.

Just more proof that PC gaming is nowhere near death.  If it was, they wouldn't even bother to offer pre-order freebies like these.  Also, if this gets more people to experience the glory that is Red Faction : Guerrilla that's a good thing.
