Codemasters is revving up for more super-sloppy off-road action with the upcoming release of DiRT 3, and what better way to brush up on your power-slides than with its really excellent predecessor, DiRT 2? I can't think of any, so that's exactly what we'll be doing on this week's Thursday Night Throwdown!

If you want to get in on the action, send a friend request to GBTNT on the Xbox 360, and we'll see you out on the track starting tomorrow at 4PM PDT. Until then, get pumped up with over six minutes of pure, uncut, pharmaceutical-grade hooning!

Isn't 5 de Mayo were the Mexicans fought the French...I believe Assassin Creed would be great for this...but Dirt 2 is more "diplomatic" I guess

God anyone that doenst have Dirt 2 should get it, I own it for the PC. It's almost essential to get a gamepad though, keyboard racing sucks.

BUY DIRT 2, it's often on Direct2Drive for $5

Actually from my understanding quite many people have it because of the DX10 features.

I know I've got DiRT 3 pre-ordered on Steam for the juicy DX11 goodness.

Yes GFWL does do cross-platform, but with this title Codemasters did not go that route. Few games do. I only have Dirt 2 for PC as well. I've never bought a codemaster's rally game for the console, I think the last rally games I played on the console were the Rallisport Challenge games from DICE.

Awesome to see how many commentators own the game on the PC via steam : )

Also seriously that hoonage video is so bad. While the Beastie Boys are great lets get something more inspiring and appropriate:

And here is one I only recently saw, I can't believe they did tarmac rallying at the Isle of Mann. Guess if motorbikes can why not cars? haha.

What happens when Dirt 3 comes out? Another Dirt TNT? I would have rather seen some PDZ or any other throwback game. The Tony Hawk TNT was a brilliant idea, but this one...less inspired.

As far as I can tell, only three games are cross-platform. It seems Microsoft dropped the feature pretty early on.

Get Drew and Dave in on this crazy-ass rally action and I think we'll have a TNT for the ages. But dang I have to admit, DIRT 3 can't get here soon enough. An all Gymkhana TNT would be completely bonkers.
