Thursday Night Throwdown 05/05: DiRT 2

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the most culturally appropriate way possible: hooning your fool heart out in DiRT 2!

Codemasters is revving up for more super-sloppy off-road action with the upcoming release of DiRT 3, and what better way to brush up on your power-slides than with its really excellent predecessor, DiRT 2? I can't think of any, so that's exactly what we'll be doing on this week's Thursday Night Throwdown!

If you want to get in on the action, send a friend request to GBTNT on the Xbox 360, and we'll see you out on the track starting tomorrow at 4PM PDT. Until then, get pumped up with over six minutes of pure, uncut, pharmaceutical-grade hooning!

I didn't pay a ton of attention to either of the previous Dirt games...but the 3rd one has me interested.

I had no idea this game had online multiplayer.


Also, really surprised that they aren't playing the PC version. I bet so many people have it, seeing as Steam puts it on sell for like 75 cents seemingly every 2 weeks.

I dislike when people decide to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the U.S., as an excuse for to get drunk and eat Texmex food with no real regard or respect for its cultural background. If you want to get drunk, act like an ass and eat "chimichangas" and nachos until you vomit then by all means go ahead. But don't appropriate and mock others' history while you're at it.

@rebgav: Yup, they pretty much never used it. And most people would have DiRT 2 on PC, since it was bundled with like every goddamn ATi card for a good while + have been on sale 300 times + was one of the first DX11 games.

I have it on Steam as well, but I am not sure I would be up that late to play. I will say though despite how average my PC is Dirt 2 runs great and looks great.
