Toy Soldiers "Invasion" DLC Lands September 29

It’s happening more and more often; If game developers are planning to introduce anachronistic and random content to their game, they’re going to release it as DLC. Does all that “ dog dying” business at the end of Fable II get you down? Why not turn that frown upside-down with a puppy-resurrection potion for just $10? Tired of the grey and tan emptiness of the w asteland in Fallout 3? $10 is all you need to jump start your adventure directly into space!

So, if what you’re looking for in Toy Soldiers is to pit soldiers, trenches, and towers against an alien armada for the fate of Europe, than Signal Studios has your back, provided that you have $5. The developers behind that excellent action/tower defense hybrid for Xbox Live Arcade have revealed the second downloadable expansion releasing later this month. 
 
Joystiq reports that the new “Invasion” DLC pack will arrive with a new, three-level campaign that puts your tiny tin troopers against an extra-terrestrial force that will stop at nothing to deploy their tanks directly into your toy box. You’ll face off against new enemy types and pilot brand new vehicles over the course of the campaign. And there’s 50 extra gamer points for you in the pack, if that’s your thing.

This is where I wanted this game to go all along, nice to see the ideas about kids playing with toys of different eras is being utilized and not just made as a new game with a different setting.

 Breast canons are the best canons.

Although, I may actually pick this up.

Toy Soldiers is on sale for the Deal of the Week next week - 800 points.  Buy it then, and get the DLC if you love it!  Probably what I'll do myself.

U dumb.  Behold, the kind of person who'd think this is a well written article. "

It's anachronistic because the rest of the game and the previous DLC stuck to the conventions of WWI and WWII scenery, enemies, and weapons - with just a tiny bit of "experimental" weaponry appearing in the Kaiser DLC - while this expansion goes crazy with alien robots. It's random because this news came out of absolutely nowhere. Also, no kid is ever mentioned or seen in the game (except for the kid's room,) it's all about the toys - which up to this point have all been pretty historically accurate.

Is that a stretch to fit his meaning? Yes. Could he had written this article so it was fluent to read and more informative? Yep, it's not a very good article, though I still got my news from it. I still hope every article to hit the front page is filled with these little quirks that enrage folks like you who have to immediately scroll down and curse at the writer as soon as they see them.

I havent played this yet, but Im getting into TD games more and more, the retro scifi thing appeals a lot more than the pure military setting of the main title for sure

According to Major Nelson's Blog Toy Soldiers will be on sale next week for 800 MSP on Sept. 27th.  Two days before the new DLC is hot off the press.

i forgot about this game. it seems like a good game. i should get it out sometime.

i might buy this one.
