Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta Kicks Off In July

Shocker: before Uncharted 3 launches this November, you’ll be able to get your hands on the game’s competitive component via an open beta, Naughty Dog announced on the PlayStation Blog today. Bonus double shocker: showing loyalty to your Sony overlords will get you into that beta about a week quicker.

Here’s the deal: Naughty Dog is planning to kick off the beta on June 28 for all PlayStation Network Plus members and "specially marked copies" of Infamous 2. On July 5, the beta will open to all PSN members. You don’t even need to beg at a blog’s doors for codes--you’ll get your shot as long as you have a PSN account. 

Can't wait to play this, really looking forward to it after seeing the trailer.

I would buy this game just for the improvements to the multiplayer. Can't wait to try out the beta.

Never got into the multiplayer for Uncharted 2, but I'm really looking forward to more single-player action.

Oh god, that trailer got me pumped. Can not wait!

I was weary of signing up at first, but I'll be damned if they don't throw a ton of free shit and early access to other things our way. Everybody laughed at PSN Plus when it was first announced (including myself) but I'll be the first to admit I was wrong about it and eat crow.

So "Specially Marked" packages of Infamous 2 probably means every copy of the first shipment of Infamous 2.

Split-screen in this game = YES.  I'm SO very glad that split-screen seems to be making a comback in shooters.  I've been missing it in several games the past few years.

This game is gonna rule. From the looks of it so far, it may top Uncharted 2; an amazing feat.

Seems like this game is coming too quickly for me, I still need to play UC2 again, think I'll pass on this.

Had no interest in the multiplayer in the second game and this isn't going to change it!

Yeah this and maybe Portal 2 if the writing's as top notch and the gameplay is as concise as the last one. "

Uncharted is easily one of the greatest franchises of this generation, yet im not really interested in the multiplayer because.. console shooting? a handful of players? i'll pass

Uncharted 2's multiplayer was far too good for reason. Uncharted did not seem like the kindof game multiplayer would work in, but it just did.
I especially liked the cooperative arena type stuff, but the competative team based stuff was fun too.

Uncharted 1 Elena for good guys and Eddy Raja for bad guys.

I played Uncharted 2's multiplayer for a ridiculously long time, it was just so fresh at the time. Hope to see Uncharted 3 bring something new to the table.
