I feel like this game is in a similar position as Starcraft was. If you make it like modern FPSs it loses its identity as CS, but you have to change enough to make it feel new. As a big CS fan, I hope they bring something really cool to the table.

I meant that I don't know if it has gotten any upgrades since Portal 2, because that is the latest Source game, right?

Hate to say it, but I'm sure it'll be exactly like TF2 on 360.

On PC, Valve controls the channel so they can update whenever.

Steam is on PS3, so they also have flexibility there.

Microsoft won't let these patches through without an approval process so I think it necessarily means there will be fewer patches.

So CS3?? The curse has been lifted!!!

its for all, not just consoles. its a way to get more people into the game even if it is slowed down some on the consoles. its also not a classic since it is being released as a new game. its not 1.6.

Interesting news, as someone who still plays CSS, and loves it btw. I hope this isn't like Condition Zero but even if it is, CSS is still popular and warcraft server I play on still has tons of content unexplored.

kind of excited to see what it looks like. Hopefully improved graphics and mechanics. Also I hope they stay true to CS and not have Iron Sights.

meh all I play on CS these days are gun games, zombies, and surf maps. The new modes would have to be really good to get me back into it.

If it is on consoles dear god I will just fall over and cry, and I usually don't care but CS is holy you don't mess with it.

Counter strike was done before on consoles and didn't exactly make much of a splash, Bit like team fortress 2, Can't see it making much of a difference in the call of duty and battlefield dominated games world.

Oh, that's pretty cool. I haven't really enjoyed or spent much time playing CS since beta 5.2 and didn't care about CSS, but I guess it's worth a look.

CS is still huge with CSS and CS 1.6 being in the top 3 most played games on steam with over 50,000 players a day on each. A $15-$20 XBLA game is different to a $60 blockbuster.

Cool I'd love to play another super slow FPS with no learning curve and aim assists. I hope headshots don't matter and I get to spray guys in their legs for kills :|
