Valve Didn't Forget About Portal 2's "Summer" DLC

Testing begins anew next week, guys.

Valve just sent word that Portal 2's first set of downloadable content, dubbed Peer Review, will be released on every platform on October 4.

And if you've forgotten, this content won't cost you a dime.

Peer Review contains both single and co-op content, though the additional "story" bits appear to be relegated to the co-op expansion, which continues to follow P-Body, Atlas, and GLaDOS.

If you're playing solo, Valve's included a Challenge Mode with leaderboard functionality. Said Challenge Mode is also available for co-op play, though. Co-op! Co-cop! Co-op!

YES! Edit: Fucking finally. I'd like to thank Patrick and the academy. Now to actually comment on this here piece of news. I'm excited to see what exactly will come of this. I loved Portal 2, I loved the single-player and the co-op, and all the dirty, little potato jokes. But the ending of the co-op campaign left a little something to wish for, I'm glad they're expanding upon that.

October is still summer if you follow Valve Time. Each year is 24 months long, and each day only has 16 hours in it.

Awesome, been looking forward to some more co-op. Recently did a speedrun of the main story, still one of my favorite games of 2011.

I had forgotten. Now I'm pleasantly surprised.

I still have not played 1 second of co-op which is a crime but I have a problem when it comes to PC multi player, I have no friends ahhh.

I only started PC gaming on a regular basis 18-24 months ago and all my real life friends play on consoles and I have never tried jumping into on-line games with random people so I never actually met anyone on-line to start gaming with and Portal 2 co-op seems like it would be a lot more fun playing with someone familiar I assume regular contact throughout the game is needed.

I should probably just grow some balls and try some random multi-player games as I would really love to play Portal 2 in co-op.

God damn it, Patrick. I'll be your co-op partner if it means you'll play it. The co-op campaign had the more challenging and clever puzzles of the two. You should get on that.
