White PS3 Slims With Bigger HDDs Coming To Japan

If an eggshell-finished version is announced, I'll import this afternoon.

If you've ever said to yourself, "Man, I'd really like a white PS3 slim with a bigger hard drive," check yourself: Sony is poised to release a white PS3 slim with a bigger hard drive, at least in Japan.

The white PS3 slims will ship in two flavors: 350GB for the rabid downloader in all of us, and 160GB for the sensible game installer. These models will also be available in standard black, replacing the 120GB and 250GB currently lining store shelves (via Kotaku).

Both color types with the different-sized HDDs will hit, in Japan, in late July. The 320GB model will retail for around $400 USD, while the 160GB will launch at about $340 USD.

== TEASER ==Whether we'll see these new white consoles and classic consoles in Europe or the US is still up in the air.

European writers who've pinged Sony about the possibility of receiving these consoles have been getting boilerplate, non-committal responses in return. "We will consider every possibility based on the market demands," a rep tells VideoGamer, "but have nothing to announce at this point in time."

I am currently considering dropping a new PS3 slim in my entertainment center, and will continue evaluating all possible color choices, until a point in time at which I'll decide whether or not to purchase a new PS3 slim. At that point I will announce to you if my decision has been made, but I have nothing to reveal at this point in time.
