XBLA "House Party" Games Dated And Priced

The party starts on February 16. Mark it down!

Those Xbox Live Arcade “House Party” games that were revealed at CES are coming sooner than later, according to a recent Major Nelson blog post. Konami's side-scrolling throwback Hard Corps: Uprising will lead off the themed releases starting on Feb. 16, and will then be followed by...

This is the XBLA version. See, button prompts and everything!

That’s at least a couple of potential must-haves, right? The prices there are fairly tame considering the more high-profile nature of these downloadables, too. According to Nelson, Bejeweled Blitz, Beyond Good & Evil HD, and Full House Poker will all hit at an agreeable 800 MSPs. Torchlight and Hard Corps: Uprising will hit at the usual 1200 Microsoft Banana Dollars.

So, what games are you thinking about grabbing?

Where's my Game Room, Major?  WHERE

Posted by Venatio

Thankfully I got Torchlight dirt cheap on Steam during christmas, might have been tempted otherwise

I'll be grabbing Beyond Good & Evil on PSN. Anyone know when it's coming to PSN ?

Edited by RuneseekerMireille

Can't wait to play Hard Corps:Uprising.

Posted by Stupot

I've never played Torchlight but the pc version seemed to get great praise so i'm really looking forward to picking it up for the 360. Actually kinda disappointed it isn't being released earlier. Not sure about the other games though.

This article is oddly presented.

Is there any special deal for this "House Party" thing, like if you buy 3 games, you get some points back, or anything like that?  Or is this just some stupid branding thing?

Posted by mouse5050

not the house party i was thinking of...

Posted by zombie2011

These games look pretty good.

Posted by Mystyr_E

you mean Microsoft actually priced games at 10 bucks for once?....Are you sure this is the same company?

BG&E HD will be mine! 800msp? Suhweeeet

Posted by nick_verissimo

If you haven't played it yet, than everyone should seriously consider picking up Beyond Good and Evil. One of the best games from the last generation of consoles that didn't sell as well as it should have.

Posted by Solh0und

Torchlight! Will buy soon!

Posted by Hexogen

I was fully expecting BG&E to be 1200 points. At 800, I won't just buy it, I'll extra buy it.

Posted by Rayfield

Will pick up BG&E and Torchlight the nanosecond they are available.

@BradNicholson:

Heh. Banana dollars.

Posted by JazzyJeff

Torchlight and Beyond Good & Evil fo sho!

Torchlight and Beyond Good & Evil HD will be mine!

Posted by Venatio

Wait, BG&E HD is only 800 MSP?

Getting that

Posted by xeronius1

Whoa whoa whoa. Beyond Good and Evil HD? I knew that I wouldn't be able to resist buying another copy of Torchlight (I feel like I might enjoy the controls more than on the PC), but now they will be getting even more of my money. Sons o' B's!

Would love to get  T orchlight and Hard Corps: Uprising!

Posted by TheYear20XX

Looking forward to Full House Poker.

Posted by SlightConfuse

cant wait for beyond and torchlight

Posted by Dimsey

If I didn't already have the PC version I'd grab Torchlight...
Nothing else I'm interested in.

Posted by SomeGuy

Will Jessie and the Rippers be on the soundtrack to Full House Poker?

Posted by HatKing

Dude.  Beyond Good & Evil for ten bucks?  Yes please.  Also Torchlight looked amazing when I saw it on PC, never got around to buying it.  I'm excited.
Posted by Winsord

Don't care about any of these games. :/

Posted by dvorak

XBLA, heh.

The eShop is going to be a party all, day every day, baby! WOOOO!

Posted by PerfidiousSinn

Beyond Good & Evil for $10 is insane. I seriously thought they would charge 1600 spacebucks for that.

Posted by damswedon

Beyond Good and Evil and Torchlight are must-haves. Hard corps and bejeweled are maybes.

Edited by PillClinton

Torchlight and BG&E are definite buys for me.  Hard Corps is too if it reviews well.

This is probably the most appealing "Block Party" XBLA whatever event I've ever seen.

Posted by Scribbly

If you haven't played Torchlight or Beyond Good and Evil you should definitely get them. Though I'd wait for reviews on Torchlight because that could translate badly to a controller compared to playing on M&K. Beyond Good and Evil is just amazing and underappreciated, so that's a must buy if you don't own it.

Posted by Lumley

Finally my chance to play BG&E!
It's cheaper than I thought it would be!

Posted by GravityProof

Damnit! I don't want to wait for march to play BG&E. I would have got it anyway, but I'm glad to see it's only 800 MSP.

Posted by Vinny_Says

Most good house parties involve fantasy and wizards. Perfect!

Posted by JustinSane311

All of these games seem to be $5 over priced

Posted by Demmetje

I really expected BG&E HD to be 1200 ..

Posted by Zaft

Darn cheap for some great games. I'll be grabbing both (Torchlight and BG&E obviously) as soon as I can.

I wonder if the achievements will be capped at 200 for these as well. I've always felt that to be somewhat silly, but then again, I don't play games for achievements. They're just a nice little "extra".

BGE 800 points?

Day one perch.

Posted by Fearbeard

Torchlight the day after Dragon Age 2?  That's bad timing...

I've already played Torchlight for the PC but was planning on grabbing it for XBLA but my mind will be on other things on the 9th so I might end up waiting on a deal for it.

Posted by Brodehouse

Finally DJ, Uncle Jessie and Comet the Dog all get together, to play a couple hands of high stakes poker.

Posted by craigbo180

I have never played Beyond Good and Evil so ill most likely get that, none of the other games appeal to me. Hard Corps and Torchlight are possibilitys in the future if they get discounted.

Posted by BBQBram

Beyond Good & Evil in HD. Schweeeet.

Posted by GeekDown

I already have Torchlight for the Pc, but I might pick up BGE since I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Posted by allenibrahim
@Brodehouse: this took me several reads to get. Thanks for reminding me of some classic 90's TV.

Beyond Good and Evil finally coming out huh? For me, the window of hype has closed. Where was this three years ago when I would have been jonesing for it? Now it just seems like it's too far removed for me to dedicate time to enjoying it again.

Posted by wickedsc3

BG&E and Torchlight for sure ill have to demo the others ones to see if their any good.

Posted by WinterSnowblind

Hardcorps: Uprising should have just been called Contra.  Had no idea what the game was at all before seeing actual footage of it, but that's some serious old school business right there.  Looks amazing.

Beyond Good & Evil is amazing and priced far better than I would have imagined.  Ditto for Torchlight, though with little new content, I don't think it's going to be worth it if you already own it.

Poker Night should be great too, but I still think this should have been free to play and perhaps making you use real points you've purchased for the big tournaments.  (Poker is always better with real stakes).
