Zelda Fan Plays With Himself

Here's how to impress at least three people at a party.

I'm not sure who started the original "clone-cappella" but it seems to be the growing art form of choice for tuneful fanboys. It's great to see so many things that were once the torch bearers of nerdom coverge to burn down the thorny walls of ostracism. Here's what I assume to be a totally socially-celebrated man paying homage to the Zelda series with some clever arrangements and an amazing selection of hats.

It's not bad at all. I now present the first one of these I remember seeing. In my personal opinion, this guy is still the champ.

Now that I think about it, I have a very vivid memory of a friend and me recording ourselves singing EMF's "Unbelieveable".  I don't think I can express to you how grateful I am to have grown up before YouTube.

Thanks to Kotaku for the tip on this one. Vinny Caravella on Google+

These people may have children some day, and those children will also bear the human fruit - and one day they will find the videos of what their grandparents did in their youth

There will be a lot of suicides that generation
Posted by Stevokenevo

@ OmegaPirate

but may all those suicides be musical and glorious just like these videos!  hahahaa

Vinny, I would pay no small sum of money to see this.

Uggh, such videos are sad, but the first shows some skills.

Posted by Fiziks

The second one, my god.

Posted by dtran1212

oh god, can't listen to this crap

Posted by McQuinn

oh madness.
Posted by Oni

My god that Wind Waker one posted in the comments is amazing. Clearly the best. Also, the second video isn't actually that guy singing. Read the description of the youtubes.

Posted by LiquidPrince

Dude... This guy does the same thing, but he doesn't show himself playing all the instruments at once.

"The Internet: the greatest and worst invention by the human race."

Idiocy would still exist with or without the Internet. All it does is let the minority of us know who we have to share the planet with. Which is absolutely fucking depressing.
Posted by lordofultima

There's a difference between a cappella and someone recording all the instrumentation for a song. I don't claim that my solo work is a cappella.

Posted by Ghostin

A guy who plays the pan pipes that well surely won't be alone forever... poor chap.

Posted by TripMasterMunky

I too, am glad I grew up before youtube and all this social networking >_<

It's sad that i watched both of these videos i need to kill myself now.

Posted by TheGTAvaccine

Cant watch either of those. Too god damn annoying.

Posted by Raven_Sword

The second is epic. fucking. win.

Posted by natural_deadhead

the guy on the violin is great! He has talent.

Posted by DukeTogo

That looks like some form of Nintendo viral marketing to me.

Posted by Parsnip

The Wind Waker video in the comments is quite possibly Solid Gold™.

NIce zelda

2nd was genious!!

Posted by BiffMcBlumpkin

I live in a world in which I pretend they're quadruplets, and those hats were all birthday presents.

Posted by Methdragon

OMG the one near the beginning of the comments is sooooo amazing

unless of course he isnt really doing it like the guy in the second one but it would be so sick i you could play all those weird instruments, my uncle actually has an ocarina hahah

I'm speechless.

Posted by Mawryk

Ha.  I remember EMF.  We should get the Capcom boys to get you guys happily plastered and give us a recreation featuring the giant bomb crew.  Jeff could totally rock the lead singers hat.

Posted by RetroIce4

I liked the first one more.

Posted by twswordsman

Metalica, yes! awesome!

Posted by dezvous

So very sad when people fail to realize talent when it's there, despite whether or not they thing it's "gay" because a guy has the ability to sing at a high octave. The Star Wars tribute is badass in two ways, first off he's right, John Williams IS the man, and second the guy clearly has awesome talent, with the ability to sing quite well in a range of very different octaves.

Posted by SpikeDelight

The Star Wars one is freaking awesome! Thanks for putting that in there Vinny!

Posted by ProsaCC

Hehe, laughing makes this so much better :)

Posted by Death_Unicorn

He's quite the violin player. :D

Creepy.  Wow...  When I was in secondary school this kid taped himself and his brother doing their own vocals-only mad mc version of a rap song.  None of us would have known except his best friend brought it in and played it on a boom box for everyone to hear.  He was a jerk that way.  But we all laughed very hard.

That's some hardcore shit right there!
