    So I've been wondering something for the longest time. 
    Why do Asari have those wierd 'tentacles' on their heads? Are they even tentacles? Or are the asari like an 'blue octopus with a torso, arms and legs?' 
    Any ideas?

    And I've wondered this as well, it probably is just skin though. Or like, a species-wide, insanely fashionable hat.

    @natetodamax: Funny thing about that was that I ALMOST spelled that. I spellchecked "tentecles" and got "testicles" and would have submitted it if I hadn't re-read the titles.

    Maybe it helps her with her lifespan.
    Supposedly Asari live thousand or so years, perhaps they stay healthy via photosynthesis?
    They spread the things out like a flower and absorb sunlight.... Just maybe.....

    I figured it was just skin. Dunno about anyone else, but I'd be thoroughly disturbed if those things started coming to life in the middle of a conversation O.o

    But I would love to yank one of those tentacles and see if it comes off or not - and the feel of it.
    It's like a scab, it's there and you want to peel it off cause it annoys you.

    According to Mass Effect Wiki:
    Such a letdown, I love tentacles, but I still wonder, can you pull on it and is it squishy... I will have to write a letter to BioWare and find out.

     In the place of head hair, asari possess wavy folds of sculpted skin; aside from this and their skin tone, aesthetically the asari are the closest alien species to humans.

    Just playing Mass Effect, and I imagine them being bony, maybe even part of the skull. They didn't have any sense of movement. So either the head "tendrils" would either be made out of bone or cartilage.

    @GamingReligion: Exactly! Tentecle DLC is a must. Liara loses her hair comb - uh tentacle comb -  and you must find an suitable replacement, at which time, upon the completion of the quest you are allowed to stroke her tentacles. 
    @Bones8677: Well if they were bony, and hard how would she clean underneath them? You see, as in the picture, there are spaces that look like they go underneath the tentacles, and that would prove such a pain to clean because she would have to stick a q-tip and scrub, as it looks like her (or human) fingers will not suffice. 
     
    I just noticed. This thread has gone so far outside the bounds of normality that it should be purged, in order to avoid hurting the minds of many.
