Ashley Williams

A blunt, no nonsense marine, Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams is one of the first squadmates who joins the crew in Mass Effect. She remains with Commander Shepard potentially throughout the game, and if pursued, can be a male Commander Shepard's love interest.

Bookworms are the characters who always have their face buried between the pages of a book. It doesn't matter if it's a mystic spellbook or just a tattered paperback, they'd rather read about an epic adventure than have one.
Branching Story Line

Games that let you choose you path you take through through the story-line.
Citadel Council

The Citadel Council is the governing body of the Citadel. As the authority of Citadel space, they help settle disputes between governments and maintain law and order through the use of there covert agents, The Spectres.
Good vs. Evil

Whether it be Mario vs. Bowser, Jedi vs. Sith, Link vs. Ganon, or Elves vs. Orcs, the forces of good are in an eternal battle with the hordes of evil.
Human

Humans are bipedal, sapient primates capable of abstract reasoning, language, and emotions.
Kiss

The act of pressing your lips against someone or something else as a sign of affection.
Nudity

Nudity is qualified as either exposed buttocks, breasts, or genitalia or general lack of clothing. Video game nudity is largely a rarity outside of the PC market.
Potential Love Interest

These are the characters who may or may not wind up in a relationship with the protagonist of the game. Sometimes the player gets to choose if this relationship will develop, while in other instances it is just left up to your imagination at the end of the game.
Psychics

People who have Psychic Abilities. They appear in games, often using their abilities as weapons (Example: Telekinesis in Psychonauts)
Recruitable Characters

Many games allow you to add characters to your playable group upon fulfilling certain conditions. This is a central mechanic of many RPG franchises, including Fire Emblem and Suikoden. These can be NPCs or even enemy characters that the player persuades to join their cause, through sidequests or dialogue options.
Recurring Character

A character that appears in many games, often unrelated. For a prime example, think of Cid from the Final Fantasy series.
Romance

Romance in video games can either be interactive, in which the player attempts to woo another character, or an unchangeable part of the story of a given game.
Sex

When two (or more) characters love each other very much...
Space Battle

Space usually is empty, but sometimes it's filled with pixelated death-machines.
Space Marine

Typically representing the elite of humanity's Space Forces, Space Marines have appeared in numerous games such as the Doom series and Warhammer series.
Special Forces

Elite and specially trained/equipped military troops and law enforcement tasked with carrying out specific and dangerous/sensitive objectives beyond the remit of regular military personnel. Many games feature special forces operators or units as protagonists or enemies.
Spectres

Elite group of agents empowered by the Citadel Council to uphold galactic stability at any cost.
Systems Alliance

The political and military face of humanity in the Mass Effect universe.
The Reapers

In the Mass Effect franchise, the Reapers are a hyper-advanced machine race that appear periodically every 50,000 years to bring a close to a "cycle" in which the Reapers harvest all the advanced forms of life.
Tomboy

A tomboy is a girl who behaves in a boyish manner. It manifests itself through the practice of games and activities that are typically considered to be the domain of boys.
